Sunshine Sunday - rain and remembering

First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for participating in Sharing Saturday yesterday.  It was so fun to watch you all help each other out with FANTASTIC tips and ideas.  I was really excited and touched to see all the suggestions.  Thank you.  It's never too late to continue to add ideas or suggestions to that post either.

Anyhow, on to what I'm grateful for this week.  We've had a lot of rain this spring.  The other evening when Rex was already ready for bed he asked if we could use an umbrella.  I didn't realize that he hadn't ever used an umbrella so outside we went.  I walked holding him and the umbrella and then he wanted to try it himself.  Here he is with his hand-me-down Hulk jammies (which showcase his 'lil chicken legs) and his big umbrella.  He walked up and down our sidewalk again and again. He loved it.

Last night my husband and I went out on a date!  It was a perfect evening and at one point I had a nostalgic moment that was kind of fun.  We went to get frozen yogurt and there was a girl playing her guitar there.  She had the same guitar that I had when I played in cafes and anywhere they'd let me play.  It was so fun to think back to that and see her up there playing her heart out.  I find a lot of joy in reminiscing and part of me misses those moments, but I am also happy that I love my life right now.  It's really good.  Really good.

Do you know what I mean?  Is there anything you sometimes miss?

  2. I miss playing softball. I was able to play on Tuesday when the promoting 5th graders played against the teachers. I miss the excitement, the crowd, the cheers. I have 2 young boys and a military spouse, who is constantly deoploying, so the "me" time has dwindled, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I guess I can always look to at least one game a year! lol

  4. I miss having double the income. But I wouldn't trade my life now for anything. I LOVE MY LIFE with kiddos, and I'm so lucky to get to stay home. Plus, I'm learning new things, like how to make ruffles and stencil shirts. ;-)

  6. I miss tap-dancing! But I have found a wonderful dance class at my gym that connects me to my former high-school self. It makes me feel good about myself and is my selfish wonderful pleasure!!

  7. I miss France. I lived in France for 2 years in my late teens (no parents just me and my best friend) and I miss how if feel there. How everyone is so laid back and loves life and enjoys it. Eating outside, enjoying a drink, cooking outside, friends and family gathered together every night for a real meal.

  8. I miss having a flat stomach. I also miss being able to go out whenever I felt like it. I miss cheap college pizza and late night girl talks.

But you know, I wouldn't trade what I have for anything. My life is pretty great-- just different.

  10. I agree with Leca. My list was going to be *almost* the same -- I forgot about cheap college pizza!

But -- like the rest of us -- I also love where I am now. (I'd just like to go back to 'that old life' for few days now & again... ;-) )
