Feature Friday - My Dad Has a Blog?

If you've been around these parts for a while then you've probably caught a glimpse of my dad several times.  He modeled the magic tie trick.

But, his skills don't stop at modeling :)  He can build pretty much anything.  He's been the builder behind all these projects.  (Click the picture to go to the tutorial.)

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.  You should see what he's made for my sisters and my mom.  Well, now you can.  My Dad has started a blog.

I'm nerdy-excited about it.  I can't tell you how many emails I've received requesting the superhero bed plans.  I'm excited to share my dad with all of you.

He won't be blogging everyday, but probably a couple times a week.  He'll share projects and the full plans for them.  Check out some he's already posted.  (Click on the picture to go to the full tutorial.)

Look at this gorgeous entry table he just built my mom.

And YES, the superhero bed plans are there in full.

You can head over to check out the rest yourself.  He'll also be posting helpful building tips.

BUT, my favorite part of his blog is this series he's starting called "Ask Dad."  Let's say you see a gorgeous table in Pottery Barn and you want to recreate it, but you don't know how.  Well, you can "ask dad" and he'll draw up the plans for you free of charge.  (He'll probably take one request a week, so we'll see how fast he can get through them.)  How cool is that?

So, would you guys stop on over and welcome him to the blogging world?  That would be awesome.  And I'm sure you'll love what you see.  You can find him HERE.

Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Holy moly! That's amazing! However, you do realize that no one really wants JUST his advice? What we REALLY want is for him to come build it for us? At least I do. I have some bookshelves and a reading bench that I've been dreaming about. He'd like to see the DC area right? ;) Can't wait to follow your dad on his blog. Too cool!

  14. Your dad ALREADY has more followers than me and I've been blogging for over two years now! How fun to share his talents, and to be inspired by his proud daughter! My dad is super talented too, but he doesn't even own a computer. So fun! Good luck to him. Thanks for sharing. Will "follow" him as well. Not sure it is quite fair for so much talent to come out of one family. Lol. (PS-LOVED your "mommy school" series.)

  17. I'm SO excited about this. I started following him, but I didn't see anywhere that I could get e-mails, so I could click over when he posted something new. It's just an easy way for me to keep up to date with the cool blogs (like yours ;))!
