Faux Armoire

The following project isn't something I designed or created, but it's something in our home that I thought you'd like to see.  It's a really creative idea, so I thought I'd share it with you.  As you walk in our front door this is the view.

You see the black armoire?  Originally it was a normal closet, but the previous owner didn't like that it was the first thing you'd see when entering the home.  So, they hired someone to turn it into a faux armoire.  It looks like you bought an expensive armoire and slid it into the space there.

It opens just like an armoire.  (It's also where we store Gunny.)

The drawer is useable as well.

It's something people always like or ask about when they come in.

And that's all for today.  I hope you're having a great day.  See you tomorrow.

Wow! That is amazing. What a beautiful addition to your house. It sure makes a statement.

I clicked over to check out Gunny. What an awesome idea! Right now, my little guy is good about helping pick up his toys. I know the day will come that he won't be as good though. I bookmarked that post for when that days arrives! Thanks!

That is so creative! I would have never thought of doing something like that! Of course, we don't have the space for a hall closet that size in our current home, but this is a neat idea for in the future!

What an awesome idea... it looks so pretty!

I love your curtains in the living room... where did you get them? We have a new house and I am working on curtains right now, but struggling finding just the right thing.

Thanks for posting this cool idea; your home looks very inviting from the front door! Have a great week!

OH my heavens!! We have a gunny bag too! We had the same "cassette" when I was a kid and it had all sorts of fun songs on it. But all I really remember is the gunny bag song, so if my kids don't pick their toys up out he comes! I always sing it as well! HA!

That is a great idea! I wish my entry way was bigger so I could do that. After seeing it maybe I can come up with something neater for our coat closet.

oh wow. Seriously wow. We have an ugly pantry thing that you see first thing in our house, and this is the perfect solution! Thanks!

Selena - I bought the fabric to make them. They weren't store bought curtains. If you live around here I can tell you the store, not that they'll still have the fabric, but they have a great selection with great prices.

That has got to be one of the most clever things I've seen! Thanks for sharing!

I remember you posted a while back about the letter rocks you made for Rex. I did a project today with lowercase letters I know he would love & wanted to pass it along to you.

That is fabulous! I wish 'curved molding' was something easy to find and did not need to be made custom. I would do every door in the house!

Love it! I did something sort of similar in my girls' rooms with their closets--built in drawers and hanging spaces and cabinet doors--and not only does it look better, it's more functional! This also inspires me to find a convenient place to keep our Gunny!
