Painted Bins and a Bathroom Update

This is the last bathroom update and the next post I do on it will be the big reveal.  Hallelujah!  I'm so excited that it's almost done.

So in the area that has the throne....

...there's some shelving to the left.  I want it to look nice enough that I don't feel it has to be covered up.  I had some of these bins there, but they were an almond color and didn't match the new look.

So?  My mom always taught me you can paint anything.  So I took these babies through a spray paint car wash.  Then I came back and painted the handles gray.  Much better.  I found the little bins above on clearance and I think I'll painted some other baskets I already have to fill up the other shelves.

So as you peek around the corner, it'll look nicer.  I still have work and organizing to do there.  I'm also re-using the Be Sign I painted years ago.  I'll just change the colors of some of the letters so it matches a little better and it'll be like new.

So what's left to do?  I have to finish painting my husband's vanity.  And all the towel bars, toilet paper holders, and stuff like that have to be hung.

Gotta love the final stretch.  And on a side note, do you ever end up matching the rooms of your home because you like the colors so much that you use them in your clothing as well?  I noticed today that I totally matched our bathroom.  Yeah, I'm cool like that :)

Alright.  Next time you'll see the whole thing with pretty non-phone pictures.

Thanks for dropping in.

  2. Really neat how you painted the bins. Have you considered maybe covering the front of the shelving unit with a shower curtain or some really pretty fabric? I would totally do that if I had that much storage in my bathroom! Nice color choice for the walls too.

  3. So did you spray paint the bins with the handles taped off? They look fantastic, and that shade is probably not one you'd easily find in the store.

    1. I didn't tape them off. I just spray painted the whole thing and then painted over the handle with the gray paint.

      Thanks for your comment!

  5. I laughed at the fire extinguisher next to the toilet. You must live with the same type of man as my husband!!! ;)

I bought bins the other week and using your tutorial, did my first ever freezer paper stencil of my husband's name (for the pocket dump at the end of the day) and one says MAIL. Loving them - thanks ever so much for your constant inspiration!

  7. GREAT I would not want the inconvenience of sticking up a curtain over your pretty coordinated bins.
Did you say this thin with the boys or did the early morning sickness you suffered keep your weight down? Or is it that you are so busy. Looking good and healthy whatever the reason

  9. I have to admit that I have a couple t-shirts the same color turquoise as our living room wall. Guess that's a good thing when you like the color enough to wear it (often).
