Guess what? I made a belt! I'm never done that before and I'm a little excited. It was pretty easy. I used up some more leather. (I'm going to be so sad when it's all gone.)
Here's how I did it.
I found a belt that fit me the way I wanted it to and cut my leather to be a few inches longer. You have to have room to fold it over and sew it. I also made it a bit wider to fit the buckle I purchased (at Hobby Lobby for $1.99).
Next I sewed a little loop for the belt to go through. This is tricky to sew and frankly, I didn't sew it all the way across. I sewed it the best I could without sewing over the loop itself.
Then I folded over the belt, lacing it through the buckle and the loop and sewing on the two lines as shown. Lastly, I punched the holes at the end with a leather hole punch. (Sorry, no picture.)
It can be worn by itself, like a normal belt.
Or, you could clip on yesterday's leather flower for a little more spice. Fun , huh?
Now I'm just thinking of what outfits I'm going to use it with.
Thanks for dropping in and thanks for all the feedback about doing a hair week. I think it's a go. Thanks for the enthusiasm!

I love it! And thanks for showing your "high" belting style -- it is often where I think belts would look best on me, but I don't always have the courage to wear it there. Thanks for the inspiration!
Soo cute!!
I love the color of your leather, and I think the flower on top looks fabulous!!!
Great job!

Very pretty!
I can't believe you made a belt - SO AWESOME! Looks great w/ your outfit and the flower :) Thanks for sharing!
How fabulous is that!
Wow! Leather-- you're amazing! I love the flower. It is really cool and versitile.
Darling! and you know that people who look like you can wear anything and it looks cute! I am built like a stubby cigar, so belts never looked good on me - but I sure can appreciate how cute they are on someone else! Love the flower. :-)
Very cute! I have been wanting to work with leather lately too and you have given me some great ideas! Thanks!
What a great idea! Sometimes it's hard to find belts that fit just right. I guess I can make one now! Thanks for sharing!
Way to go! I want to make a belt! It looks great with that flower! I will feature this at somedaycrafts.blogspot.com on Sunday! (along with the flower.)
How cute are you? I have recently been sewing with leather, and it is sooo much fun! Yay for thrifted leather garments. I too will be sad when my leather is gone!
