Sunshine Sunday - my little peddler, my iPhone, and my husband

This week was sometimes great and sometimes rough.  One of my favorite things that happened this week was that Baden learned how to peddle a tricycle!  He used to just sit on the bike and push along the ground with his feet.  Then one day this week he figured out the peddling, but he couldn't steer and peddle at the same time.  By the next day he had the whole thing down.  I was really surprised that he could do it because he's not even two yet, but watching his brother definitely pushes him.  (I love those chocolate covered cheeks.)

Secondly, THANK YOU for all your recommendations on the iPhone apps.  I am having a ridiculous amount of fun with them.  Rex is in love with all the kid games and I love that most of them are educational and all the ones I've added have been free.  I've had some fun with Instagram like you guys mentioned.  Thanks guys!

Lastly, I am grateful for my husband.  I had a breakdown the other night (which happens from time to time.)  I've just been a little overwhelmed with all I feel that's required of my lately.  While they are all great things, I just feel like I can't do it all well.  Sometimes I feel like I'm doing none of it well and like I'm not really getting to do any of the things I truly want to.  Wah, wah.  I know I've got it good, but sometimes I still get down.  My husband was really nice to listen as I exploded.  He's great.  I'm so thankful for the balance he puts in my life.  (I tried another reflection picture of us.)

I hope you all had a great week.  See you tomorrow.

  1. I had one of those overwhelming weeks too! It doesn't help when my child likes to wake up at 5:50 a.m. :-/

    Have a blessed Sunday!

  2. Husbands have a way of making us feel safe when we feel most vulnerable. Hope you have a better week this time around.

  3. Totally with you - you're not alone. Hopefully, by reaching a mini crisis you'll be able to reassess, rethink and get it all back under control.
Thank goodness for understanding OH's and cuddles.
hope you have a better week

  4. Must have been something in the air. I had one of those weeks too! Unfortunately, hubby was training all week so all I had for consolation was 2 Hershey bars and a bag of cheese puffs! ;-)

Hope you have a better week!

  5. So sweet! That's amazing that Baden can peddle and he's not even two! And it's great to have a second half to balance you out, hey? I know that feeling. Sometimes we just need to have a breakdown, get things all out, then get back on track. I hope everything looks better from here on out for you!

  7. What?! You had a breakdown? No one does that (if we were chatting you could hear the irony in my voice but it doesn't come through so well in type!) I totally had a meltdown this past week as well...it's so normal. I think we as women want to be perfect at everything and if we aren't we struggle. Meaning...no one is perfect and we are all struggling! I'm glad that you have great husband to listen to you and just know you are NOT alone!

  8. Are you talking about your own meltdown or did you see the one I had a couple of weeks ago? I felt so much better a couple of days later to get it all out and get some perspective. I still feel like I'm not totally in control and at my best, but definitely more balanced. I hope letting it out helps you too!

  9. I'm not sure if I love my i-phone more or my 4 year old. If you search PRESCHOOL FREE you'll get more educational apps for the boys. Some of the LITE versions are worth trying too. We love puzzles, memory games and dress Chica from Sprout.

  11. ahhh... instagram! Love it, too! But that's not really why I wanted to comment. Not even two and mastering the tricycle? Impressive! I thought the trike was a great idea for my 2 year old. What I didn't think about was the fact that you have to peddle and steer at the same time! Oops! I know now that that's not an easy task for a 2 year old! :)

  12. You update your blog everyday! That's a handful in itself.... plus you have a family! You are doing great, and I think it is healthy to be so busy.... and have mental breakdowns occasionally!! I have them too!! Our poor husbands!!

  13. Love the pics from your new toy! They have a lovely retro colour about them.

I know you don't need reminding that you have a cool family and a charmed life - you show us that in your blog every day. The down days are ok as they throw the good times into sharper relief.

  14. Can I just tell you how wonderful I think you are? Thanks for being real and telling us what you're dealing with. Isn't it great to have such great husbands? Mine is my sounding board for a lot of the same types of frustrations. I don't know how I could be who I am without him.

  15. Im hearing ya there with the melt downs! I think they happen to all of us regardless of how well we've got it. It doesnt make us less appreciative of what we have. I Love your blog and it is my absolute favourite. for me it has a bit of everything. I love wake up wednesday and the challenges it brings. Not only does your blog show awesome crafts but it gives us the opportunity to be humbled and challenged and make our world a better place to live. I wish you lived here in Perth Australia,I have great friends but I dont have many crafty/creative friends. I think we'd get along great lol.nkeep up the good work
