To My Little Super Heroes

I had a tutorial ready to post today, but then I found something I HAD to post today because I couldn't wait to share it.  A month ago there was a giveaway for a film by Jen Hansen of Jenfolio.  I won and I was ridiculously excited.  I had this idea for a video and she picked my idea.  So, Jen came over the other day and filmed us.

EVEN IF YOU NEVER WATCH VIDEOS ON BLOGS, PLEASE WATCH THIS!!!

It's only 2 minutes and I am so excited for you to see it.

I can't say enough good about Jen.  WOW.  She is an incredible person.  She has depth, talent, and goodness that oozes out of her.  She was really fun to work with.  My kids loved her and didn't even seem to notice that they were being filmed.  It was awesome.

If you're interested in following Jen's amazing work (which I totally recommend) you can like her HERE on facebook.  Having family photos is great, but having a video really captures so much more.  I am so grateful to have this as a keepsake for my boys.  Thank you SO much Jen!

Thanks for watching today.

  5. Awww man, I love that. What really cracks me up is I'm sitting here with my two kiddos having coffee (me) and breakfast (them) and my son, who is 14 months literally froze and stared at the screen just as you started talking about how with boys it's all the time superheros. Guess I better get ready, huh? :)

(I may be coming to you for advice in another year or so!!)

  6. Wow! That was amazing. Thanks for sharing that.

It made me a little teary eyed remembering my own boys that little. The time goes so fast...they were superheros with their toys and imaginations, and now they are superheros in their sports and with the girls. Soon enough they will be gone with superheros of their own.

Scary thought, but wonderful too. Thanks for sharing that.

  9. I have a four year old who has recently discovered the superhero world! I never knew that a costume could hold so much power. He is magical, creative, inventive, inspiring, innocent, and incredibly motivating to me as a mom to keep that imagination roaring. This video had me tears as I reflect on the past two months of my lil guys super hero love, and I have to say... I would have it no other way.. thank you so much sharing

  28. Oh my goodness. There are no words for how much I love this! I have twin boys (no girls) and those Imaginex super heroes, as well as our batman and superman capes, are an essential part of our daily routine. I also have one son who recently discovered that same Iron Man helmet and mask at his cousin's house and is now obsessed with it. ;) Your message really go to me - this is definitely something for your family to treasure always and play for them again and again as they grow up. 52. I felt spoiled to spend a small moment in your family.

You taught me alot about super heroes. And how much goodness comes from the simple choice of embracing good.

Although your kiddos haven't seen the movies, you have instill inside them the ability to know good from evil and to choose to fight it everyday.

I don't believe we will ever see the effects of that until years down the road.

Thank you, and hope to work with you again!

  53. Of course I watched it! I was moved by your beautiful tribute to those boys and how fleeting and precious our time is.

  61. I'm so glad you posted a reminder on your Sunday post, I forgot I wanted to watch it.

It's a GREAT video, beautiful production values. I just wish the audio had been re-recorded and sounded clearer - maybe it's just my bad hearing, but sometimes it was a little difficult to understand.

Still, what a lovely video to have of your boys and to share with them later!

  67. I discovered your blog just recently through One Pretty Thing. After reading a few posts I went back to the very beginning and have been reading through chronologically. I've enjoyed so many of your ideas and tucked several away for "someday I'll do that" but never felt such an urge to comment until now because... this had me in tears. Thanks for sharing your beautiful hopes for your boys. As a mother of only girls, I am thankful to know that there are moms like you out there raising boys who will someday become wonderful husbands and hero-daddies. Congrats on winning the video, and yes, it was very well done.
