I had a Halloween event last night at church and I was in charge of bring the treats. If you're bringing the goods to any parties this weekend, I've got a few simple ideas for you here.
My mom came over and showed me how to make these cute little owl cupcakes. You can't really tell from the picture, but the beak comes out at you and it's make of cut up Starbursts.
We also made what we decided to call "Crow's Feet." These are really easy to make and they are freakishly good.
Just put a bunch of pretzels on a plate. Place a Rollo on each one and microwave them until the chocolate barely starts to melt. Press a pecan onto the top. That's it! They really are seriously good. They have that salty-sweet combo that's so tasty.
I wanted to do one more super simple thing for those who might not like chocolate, so I threw some tissues over some suckers. Add a twisty-tie and two dots for eyes. Little ghosts.
For the drinks I put a scoop of lime sherbet into each cup of Sprite. (Sorry, no picture.) It foams and looks green. Kind of fun. I also printed up some labels to put in front of each food item and then antiqued the edges with an ink pad.
If you want the labels yourself just click HERE to get the PDF file.
Thanks for dropping in. See you tomorrow.

I love the pretzels with rolos and pecans!! Served them at a party and they were eaten up in no time. Nobody could believe they were just one lowly pretzel with candy and a nut! Gluten free pretzels and oreos are available too now!
The cupcakes are adorable. I have never seen those before. I also loved your signs. You did a great job. I am glad your Mom was here to help you. I love to do stuff like that.
The owl cupcakes are awesome!!!! I have a party to go to friday night, and we are all going to be owls for halloween!!! these will be perfect!!!!! thank you!!!!!!
My cousin and I made those owl cupcakes before. It was hard for us to tear the oreo's apart and keep icing on both sides. We also just used a yellow m&m for the nose but turned on it's side . Super cute.
Adorable cupcakes! Love 'em.
YUMMY, the pretzels look delish. I am going to have to use your punch idea for our family party on Sunday. thanks for sharing!!

I like easy and those crows feet look so so yummy! I am definitely trying those!
the owl cupcakes are fabulous... and, really, how can you go wrong pairing anything with chocolate and pretzels? :)
I am going to try the owl cupcakes...they are super cute and probably really yummy!
Ok, the rolo thing is my fav, I give them away for Christmas presents, but recently someone gave me one where they put a hug (you know like a kiss) melted it and put a holiday m&m on it. So yummy, and I am all about the sweet and salt thing!
Those pretzel things look awesome! I'm going to make them this weekend. Here's another good pretzel one incase you haven't stumbled upon this little piece of heaven (it's the same idea)...melt hugs kisses ontop of pretzels (i usually put them in the over at 250 for 2-3 min) and then press an m&m in the middle. THey look so pretty when you use holiday m&ms! I make them with each season!

That green sherbet soda is sounding pretty yummy about now!
LOVE the cupcakes! I'll have to make them next year when my little man is older. Candy corn would make cute beaks and you wouldn't have to cut sticky candy! =)
Those are awesome! That makes a regular party extra fun. The sign really puts them over the top! Great job!
I really enjoy your blog! It is one of the ones I make sure to read daily, and it's always full of such great ideas. Great work! I've linked to this post in my blog post for today. Thanks for all the inspiration. :-)
Cute ideas. I make the rolo/pretzel/pecan things - we call these White Trash Turtles. So yummy!!
