Soapbox Saturday - Silhouette Products and a GIVEAWAY!

I'm sure by now you've all heard about the Silhouette machine.  It's a cutting machine that is super smart and hooks up to your computer to get it's information.  (That means no buying pricey cartridges every time you want a different shape or font.)

If you don't have a Silhouette you can dry those tears because you don't NEED the Silhouette machine to use the Silhouette products.  If you have a sharp pair of scissors or an exacto knife, you can still make good use of tons of Silhouette's fun products.

They sent me a fun pack to try out with white and yellow heat transfer vinyl, one tattoo pack, and one magnet sheet.  AND, one of you will receive the same pack to try out!  It's a $50 value!

So far I've played with the yellow heat transfer vinyl.  You see, Rex has a pair of shoes that I LOVE.  The problem is he prefers his nasty ones that have holes in them.  So, I grabbed the vinyl and my trusty exacto knife and when to work.

I worked and worked until I had...

Here he is using his super hero powers.  Look out.

My review?  I was really happy with how these turned out.  The vinyl was a lot thicker than cutting through freezer paper.  It took some muscle, but it was definitely do-able.  I picked a tricky project since you can't really get the shoes to lay flat when ironing, but I came up with good method.  I haven't tried the vinyl on clothing yet, but I'm anxious to see how well it holds up in the wash.  I'll give it a shot and let you know.

I'm excited to try the magnet paper and the tattoo pack.  For both of those products, you print onto them with your own printer and then you can cut them out with a scissors.

You can head on over to the Silhouette blog for lots of ideas.  Enter to win the $50 pack by leaving a comment here.  Can't wait for a giveaway? Want a discount now?

Silhouette is also offering 25% off on all their accessories with the code: IAMMOMMA
This offer runs through November 13th at midnight.

Giveaway ends Nov 12th and is only open to US residents.
