Wake Up Wednesday

Welcome to our very first Wake Up Wednesday!  If you don't know what I'm talking about, go back and read this post first.

For today's idea/challenge, I didn't want to make it too hard but at the same time I wanted it to stretch us a bit.  So, here is a bit of both.

Make something.  (That's the easy part.  It can be a craft or food or whatever else you can come up with.)  Give it to someone you know, but not well.  (If you're thinking of someone you gave a Christmas present to, then that's not what I mean.  Aim for less familiar....like a neighbor you don't know well or a lady you know from church but have never really talked to.)

I know everyone's experience will vary a lot, but I think that will make it fun.  So, get thinking and then get doing and next Wednesday we'll all share our experiences.  Okay?  I was really touched by the number of you that expressed excitement about this idea.  THANK YOU!!!  I am so happy about it!

Thanks for stopping by.  See you tomorrow!

  4. Okay, I'm game. Sounds like a fun challenge. I am looking forward to this new feature on your blog each week. This week I'll be making dinner for a woman who just had a baby. I don't know her very well but she goes to my church.

  7. This is a great idea Cheri! I love the idea of tying 'doing good' into your blog. I've been thinking for awhile about how I would do something like that on my blog, and it looks like you've come up with a perfect idea. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with - this weeks idea has already inspired me! :)

  14. What a wonderful idea! We delivered dinner to a family from church last night. They have 4 year old with pneumonia and 22 month old triplets with bronchitis. I made sure to involve our 3 year old in the meal preparation, and on the way to deliver the meal we talked a lot about "paying it forward". Thank you for encouraging us all to have a generous heart!

  17. What a great idea to kick off the New Year! I'm excited to bring some altruism into my life on a weekly basis. And maybe, just maybe, this will start a chain of paying it forward. Thanks for doing something different in the blogosphere and encouraging us all to get outside of our comfort zone a bit each week.
