Soapbox Saturday - my favorites

Today I wanted to share a few recent loves.  You know how sometimes you find something you like so much that you really want to tell someone about it?  Yup.  That's what I'm talking about.  I haven't been paid to write about any of these things (though one of them was given to me for free).  I just really like all of them.  Here's my recent list.

1) Memory Foam Bath Mats.  Usually these are kind of pricey, but I found good sized ones at Costco for $13.  That's the same price as the regular Ikea bath mats we had that were starting to die.  So, we upgraded to Memory Foam and I am in love with them.  I've been giddy about them all week and my husband just laughs at me.

2) While I don't have any kids older than preschool age, I thought this might be of interest to those of you who do.  It seems like school fund raisers are almost always revolving around junk food or things you don't really want.  Jeannie from CA shared this with me in an email and I thought it was a really cool idea.  She's developed a healthy fundraising program called Gardens 4 Education.  Wouldn't this be fun to purchase in the spring?  You can read more about it HERE.

3) Dove Body Mists and Deodorant.  I am NOT a perfume girl.  The scents are just too strong and I can't handle them.  However, that doesn't mean I don't want to smell good.  The other day I noticed the Dove deodorant and the coordinating body mist.  Perfect.  I love the scent and the body mist isn't super heavy.  I like that I can use both and they match, instead of fighting each other.

4) Cliff Kid Snacks.  I was sent a pack of these in the mail.  I must confess, they are something that I already buy when they are at Costco.  They feel like treats, but have less sugar and more protein than the treats my kids try to sneak in.  I actually always hope they won't finish the whole thing because they are so good.  I like to help them out :)  The new Iced Oatmeal ones did not disappoint.

The fruit ropes are also great.  The shape is a billion times better than a fruit roll-up because my kids can eat them without the mess.

I hadn't ever tried these Crispy Rice Bars before.  These remind my of a healthy version of rice crispy treats.  They aren't crazy sweet though, which I liked.

That's all for now.  If you have any products you're loving right now, feel free to share them with us in the comment section.  Don't keep us in the dark!

Thanks for dropping in.

  2. I also fell in love with the Memory Foam bathmats! I saw them mentioned on a blog somewhere (I don't remember... maybe hip2save??) and it was right around the time I needed to start thinking about Christmas gifts for my mom. I got one from Bed Bath and Beyond (used a coupon of course!) and gave it to my mom two years ago. She still LOVES it, plus I get to enjoy it whenever we go visit too. :)

  3. My kids love Cliff Bars. I bought a box at Sam's Club last weekend, and the entire thing was gone before Friday! I haven't seen the iced oatmeal ones so I'll have to check those out!

  4. I love that you get giddy over certain things you get to use too. Some people just don't understand the simple pleasures of life! I got myself some rain boots from target on clearance for 10 bucks a few weeks ago, and my husband invited me to wash my car a week or so later. I was SO excited to finally get to wear my boots, he thought I had lost my mind! Those bathmats sound sweet, I'll have to give them a try. Oh, and I'm not a perfume girl either, so I'll have to give the dove stuff a try. Thanks for sharing! :)

  5. We also bought one of Costco's high quality yet inexpensive bath mats recently, but we put it in our kitchen! We've been searching for quite some time to find a deal on the uber expensive gel kitchen mats but to no avail. When I saw these bath mats at Costco it was like I had an epiphany! Using this bath mat in our kitchen might be slightly less sanitary than a rubber mat, but we were using a cotton kitchen mat before...and this bath mat has much shorter fibers than our previous mat and it was a ton cheaper than the new gel mats so we figure it was a steal all around!

  6. My new favorite product is Resolve Pet Deep Clean Powder. Have you tried that stuff? It is a damp powder that you sprinkle on your carpet and rub with a stiff brush to get the stains out. Then you let it dry and vacuum it up to get the smells out. I have kids and a dog and this is seriously the best stuff I've found to clean the carpet. And since it's a damp powder, you aren't putting wet stuff on the carpet which usually leads to moldy smells. I don't work for them or anything, I promise! I just really appreciate a good cleaning product (especially for carpet odors--yuck!).

I need to check out that Dove spray. I don't wear perfume very often either.

  7. I love Costco.
I'm also in love with the Command Picture Hanging Strips. We have an old house with plaster walls that are a pain to hang things on. I just did a gallery wall wall using these and they're awesome. It's like uber strong velcro- one goes on the wall with a Command strip, and one goes on the frame. Awesome.

  8. I love those bath mats I have two of them now and LOVE the feel every morning. BUT I hate the smell! The fumes from the memory foam take some time to get rid of. Have you had any success? I'm trying febreze today.

  10. I'm with you on the memory mats! I bought one a year ago at Walmart and love it! I just saw a dog bed made out of memory foam and I thought my dog would love that but the price stopped me!

  13. Hmm, those bars look yum! I love the Larabars too, which I've been meaning to make some of my own at home...

Right now I am loving the Blistex Deep Renewal. My lips were SO dry this winter that they were all flaky and gross. After about a week of constantly using the Blistex, no more flakes! I went out and repurchased two more tubes.
