Behind the Curtains - House of Hepworths

Today is the second day of curtain week!  Today's guest has a fabulous blog full of gorgeous tutorials like THIS....

...and THIS.

She's also got some great curtain ideas.  Let's see who's behind the curtain today.

It's Allison from House of Hepworths!  Welcome!

Holla! It's me, Allison from the blog House of Hepworths, where I blog about turning my cookie-cutter house into my very own custom home, one thrifty DIY project at a time. One of my favorite projects I've made are my Orange Aviary Curtains in my dining room.

This tutorial for making Professional Lined Curtain Panels is one of the most popular posts on my blog. I also tweaked some ikea curtains for my daughter's room by adding pom pom balls and lots of ribbon.

My piano room has some toile curtains:

After lots of shopping around, I finally found the perfect shower curtain for my guest bathroom. Even showers need pretty curtains.

Also, if you have any really long windows, you may want to take a peek at this tutorial for creating a really long custom curtain rod for less than ten bucks.

All this curtain talk has made me want to share a few curtain crushes I have. I am so ga-ga over striped curtains right now, especially these painted ones from Infarrantly Creative. This is a great tutorial.

The fabric used for these bathroom curtains from Out on a Limb is so pretty!

Decorating Cents used a Target shower curtain to create these pretty red striped curtains in her office.

SAS Interiors has WOW'd everyone online with this beautiful shower curtain made from actual curtains.

Aren't those some beautiful curtains? I just love all these amazing tutorials for creating your own custom curtains for any room. I want to thank Cheri for having me as a guest today on her fun blog. I am Momma Hear me Roar is one of my favorites! I'd also love to invite all of you to stop by House of Hepworths for lots of decorating tips and tutorials to inexpensively turn your house into your dream home.

Thank you so much Allison.  Those were great tutorials and tips.  Thanks for dropping in.

  2. Love all of these ideas and I need to replace some of my curtains too. Do you have any advice for stopping expandable rods from falling out when you open and shut the curtains regularly?? I put some up without realising they were the sort that didn't have the little screw to secure them to the bracket. Any advice would be very helpful!
