Our Turkey Tablescape

Today I'm joining a lot of other bloggers and JoAnn Fabrics and Craft Store to show you my Thanksgiving table.  The topic I was given to create was #turkeytablescapes and this is what I came up with.  You see, I'm not a fan of cartoon turkeys so I decided to take a more elegant approach to the subject.  I focused on the turkey feathers instead.

I purchased fabric to create this feather table runner.

I hand-stamped feathers cascading down it in varying neutral tones.

The stamps were carved by me and then I used fabric paint to apply them to the runner.  I like to use a foam brush to spread the paint onto the stamp first.

I wanted them to look like how a feather falls.

Then I got crazy with metallics.

I mixed them up as I stamped the fabric.

That made for some pretty, unique feathers.

Then I carried the feather theme a little further by adding name cards.

I used baker's twine and feather to decorate the simple cards.

For the very center of the table I took our pumpkins and spray painted them white.  Then I added a light spray of glitter over the top of them.

It was just enough to make them shimmer a little.

And now we're ready for turkey.

You can use the hashtag #turkeytablescapes to see what other bloggers created.  You can also find more holiday ideas HERE.  And here's a coupon for you to use the next time you head to your JoAnn store.  Thanks for stopping by.

This post is part of a design challenge from JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores.  I was given a gift card to the store to purchase items to create this tablescape, but no other compensation.

I love how fancy it looks! I love the white pumpkins with sparkle, and that stamped table runner is super awesome! It looks so peaceful because it does look like feathers do when they fall. Thanks for sharing!

impressed once more. I have yet to get past carving a potato stamp. di ?d the material you used come from the stamping section as JoAnn's. Did Rex and Baden want to help or did you do it when they were not there due to the stamp carving possible dangers ?

Very elegant! I went with elegant as well. Cartoon isn't my thing.
