While there are many fabric flower tutorials out there in blogland, I loved this one by Vanessa of Vand Co when I saw it. Why? It looks great and she didn't sew it. Hot glue, baby!..and that means it's a lot less complicated. I love how they look on a purse, but especially on a cardigan.
So, I whipped up a couple. I tried one in felt, which I loved. I made the gray one for my husband's mom for mother's day.
Instead of folding over the edges of the petals, I cut them to be rounded and burned the edges to seal it.
I love felt and this mustard color. However, it's going to be a while before I get to wear it. I think my little helper decided to play with it and I can't locate it now. Bummer!
Thanks for the great tutorial, Vanessa! If you haven't been to her blog, head on over. She has fun ideas and she is hilarious.
I am so excited about some of the projects I have lined up for next week. I'm finally going to have the final project in our playroom to show you! Woo-hoo! On another day I have a really cool boy accessory. Stay tuned! Anyhow, that's it for today. Thanks for reading.

ReplyDeleteprobably a dumb question and maybe you've already explained this on your blog....how do you burn the edges? I've heard of people doing that to felt too. Just curious....
