Sunshine Sunday - dessert

This week was very, very long.  I was particularly grateful for dessert.  You see, I have a sweet tooth....okay, I have 28 sweet teeth.  I adore dessert.  So, here are my TOP 5 desserts.

1) Caramel Pecan Silk Supreme Pie.  Doesn't the name say all you need to know?  W.O.W.  I could do an entire post just about this pie.  You can get it at the Village Inn (if you live out west) or Baker's Square (if you live in the midwest).  I can't even find an official picture of it to post, but here's a noteworthy attempt at making it, from Lindsey's Luscious Blog.

2) Raspberry Bread Pudding.  If you live in Utah, then you need to head to Kneaders for this one. Deeeeeeelicious!  If you want to try making it, here's a recipe attempt.  Haven't tried it yet.

3) Fried Ice Cream.  Ummmm!  I actually even made this once.  It was kind of fun.

4) V Chocolate's Pecan Toffee.  If you like toffee, you will be obsessed with this.  I didn't know toffee could be so light and flaky.  Warning:  Once you have tasted this, you might very well wake up nightly, craving it.  It's that good.

5) Costco Cinnamon Rolls.  These are new to me.  We just bought them yesterday for the first time.  Throw one of those onto a plate and into the microwave for 30 seconds.  Pure bliss!  I dare say - even better than Cinnabon.  I had one for breakfast when I was really hungry.  It was fabulous.  I thought, "Hmmm...maybe it was so good because I was so hungry."  So, to be fair in my judgement I had another one later, when I wasn't as hungry.  (Purely for market research purposes.)  It was still fabulous.

There you go.  Those are my top five.  I love it when you guys give me great tips or ideas in the comment section.  So, let's chat it up here.  What's your favorite dessert?

Oh and one more thing I'm grateful for....only two and a half more weeks with the helmet!

  1. Nothing can beat French macarons, in my opinion. Made with a simple white chocolate ganache filling. They are so worth the effort! I also love making fried ice cream. We make a corn flake mixture seasoned with cinnamon, then roll frozen balls of ice cream in it, and top it all with a drizzle of honey, once it's been cooked. There's something similar, I can't remember how to spell it; you make a simple fried dough, top it with cinnamon and honey, then a scoop of ice cream. I can look up the name, if you want.
    This post was too yummy!

  3. Our little girl had a band for 3 months. We are so glad that we did it for her, but were so glad when it was over. Just watch him a little closer when he gets it off, because he might knock his noggin a lot. Haven couldn't judge how close her head was to stuff for a while.
