Kickin' It Old School with Name Patches

I have been giddy about this post for a while now.  I rounded up a ton of vintage name patches and made them into appliques.  DON'T WORRY....I rounded up a lot of them and you can buy them in my new etsy shop.  AND...you don't even need to sew.

I think they look hilarious on Rex's clothing.  Meet "Lou"....

...and "Twitty."  Twitty just got a hair cut, too.

For the jacket, I found this little beauty at Old Navy for 50% off.  Now is a great time to buy a fall jacket for your little one because they are all being clearanced since spring is ending.

I just stitched this one on, but any of the ones I'm selling will be iron-on.  If you want to stitch around it for extra security then just go around and around the edging.  The back of the fabric will look like this and you won't see any of the stitches (as long as you match your thread to the edging color).  I recommend hand stitching it on if you're adhering it to something thicker, like a jacket.

For the shirt, I had this cute little hand-me-down shirt from a cousin.  Don't you think it's even cuter with this little patch?  I just ironed it on.  Done!

Tip: I iron it on from the front just enough to get it to stay put and then iron it from behind, so you're not having to go through the thick patch.  It's easier to get it to bond well that way.

Rex actually really likes it.  He responds to whatever name he's wearing that day.  I called him "Lou" all yesterday and he thought it was really funny.  So who do you want to be today?

Warning: The name could have permanent effects.

If you want to buy one, click HERE.  I just set up a little etsy shop for little items you might want when I buy something in bulk and they go with a tutorial.

Here's a peek at some of the funny names I have in stock.

Have a great day.  Thanks for coming by.
