Sunshine Sunday - idiosyncrasies

When you really love someone, you love their weird quirks and idiosyncrasies as well.  Let me tell you about my husband's.  He has a scowl.  It's on his face a lot.  AND, it turns out it's genetic.  Let me show you what I'm talking about.

Here's Baden.  For every one good picture I have of him, there's about 15 like this.

See?  Here it is again.

Jeff didn't know what I was talking about until I snapped this photo a couple years ago.  This is one of my favorite photos because it's so them.  I love it.  It makes me laugh every time.

Here's Rex with a little more proof.

You can even catch a glimpse of it with Baden at this wee age.

Okay, one last one.  Here's Baden with his birthday cake last week.  He was clearly happy, but his sweet little face doesn't always know it.

I am grateful for my boys and all the goofy things that come with them.  Any crazy things about your family you love?

"I was just." My oldest son (going to be 5 in July) uses that whenever I tell him to not do something. Example: (Me) Z please don't poor the water on the floor. (Z) I was just making a waterfall. I've recently notice that my husband does that, so now I know where the oldest gets it from and expect the 2 year old will start following suit .

This is so funny! I have the same thing with my family, except I am the one with the scowling face, and my four year old does the same thing. People are always asking us what's wrong. It is just our natural, relaxed face! We don't realize we are doing it.

Adorable! A scowl never looked cuter. And I love his name! I have a nephew Baden and had never heard the name before or since until now. So fun!

Well, yes, there IS a little bit of scowl-action going on. But I can't shake the idea that there's a little bit of "Huh?" in their expressions, too. :)

Hahahaa... this totally made me laugh because our son, Shea, also has a scowl. We call it the "Phillips" scowl because it comes from my side of the family :)

So cute! My daughter and my husband both scrunch up their noses a lot. Apparently, my husband did that starting when he was a baby. My little guy doesn't show any signs of copying yet though.

Too funny! My husband doesn't scowl, he squints. Terribly. We have so many family pictures that are great of me and the baby, but the squint is so bad that the picture cannot be saved. I call him (lovingly) Squinty McSquinterson now. :)

That is hysterical! I love the pictures. My oldest son copies the way my husband and I speak, it's really adorable. I apparently say "Yeah" in a funny way and my little guy says it just like me.

I love the crusties. It is even cuter that his classic crusty look is inherited from his dad.

lol. That is really funny!!!!

My hubby makes a pouty face. And so does my little guy. I think you're on to something - definitely genetic!

My three year old son Griffin loves to browse through blogs with me, especially the ones with pics of kids. When he saw the first pic of Badem, he said "Whoa, that's one grumpy kid!" I had to giggle!

One of my absolute favourite things that my kids do is start a game (usually out of nowhere) that we call "I love you more than pancakes" in which they take turns telling me which favourite things they love me more than. Gives me the warm and fuzzies everytime!
