Sunshine Sunday - Looking Forward

Thank you all so much for your kind birthday wishes.  I did have a wonderful birthday.  I am so blessed be surrounded by kind, thoughtful people.  And, I felt like I got a birthday card in the mail everytime you guys commented.  Thank you!

Today and always I am so grateful for things to look forward to. When day to day moments are tough it always helps me immensely to have something to look forward to. It can be small - like the weekend. It can be big - like a vacation.

Can I tell you what I'm looking forward to right now?  My parents left to serve a mission for our church in Russia.  They've been gone for a year and a half.  They got a tiny little visit when my mom had to fly back for some urgent surgery, but other than that they have never seen Baden.  That's not because we're not tight.  It's the first time they'd missed being there for a grandchild's birth.  It's because they were willing to sacrifice for something they know is more important than anything else.

They landed in Wisconsin a little over a week ago, but they will arrive here in Utah this week and I. CAN'T. WAIT.  I get emotional just thinking about it.  I love them so much and I'm so proud of them.

I can't wait till they get to squeeze this little guy.  I'll just watch.  Did I mention I'm excited?  I am.  Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you.  Your turn.  What are you looking forward to?

That is pretty huge something to look forward to! That is wonderful that you get to see them soon. I am in WI, so I will push them out of our state and onto you! :)

Happy Belated Birthday. Birthdays are a wonderful way to thank God for another year on planet earth. Congrats for spending 31 years here.

Off to sew....those are my moments I look forward to. And my favorite sound....scissors cutting fabric - especially when you scissors are on a hard surface. You know the sound? I love it!

I'm so excited for you. What a great birthday present! Even if it is a bit late. :). I'm grateful for your parent's choice to serve a mission too. I look forward to being able to do that someday too. I'm also looking forward to the yummy dinner my mother in law made for us tonight. Yum!

Aww Yay for parents!

K and I are looking forward to getting a phone call on Monday or Tuesday about a teaching Job. K's catholic school closed and he lost his job. :( It's a tough place for unemployed teachers right now. The interview went extremely well and K's reference got a call from the school saying "they were very impressed and couldn't wait to get him on board." So that's very positive.

If K gets this job, that means we'll be moving closer to our family in Chicago too! And it means buying a home and more babies for us! This has been the longest weekend EVER.

Yeay! Visits from family are always great :) I'm sure you'll enjoy the time, and I agree -- it's nice for Bayden because now he's old enough to (maybe) remember the visit when he's even older lol

I'm looking forward to getting out of my leg brace!! I've been in a leg immobilizer for 4.5 months now, yeesh!

Aren't parents great? I hope they have a safe trip home. I'm sure they made a huge impact on other people's lives. But what a blessing they had too!
I'm looking forward to picking more blueberries before they are gone so I can wash them, let them dry and then store them in plastic bags in the freezer. This way, I can have some summer throughout the year.

My oldest starts school on Tuesday. I am so excited for her, but at the same time, I'm not ready for her to be gone part of the day. Of my four kids, she is the one that loves to help me the most, and she always finds a way to make me smile. So :)...and :(

I'm excited for you, too! My little brother (who is one of my best buddies) left on his mission a week before my daughter was born, and reading your post made me really excited for him to get home (he's in Japan).
I'm also excited to do some spray painting tomorrow.

I sort of know what you mean. I´m from Iceland and that is where most of my family lives. I´m lucky because my parents can come to visit 1-2 times a year but I miss them so. Especially now that I have my boys. It´s hard knowing that my parents don´t really know my children because I chose to live so far away but I´m studying to give my children a better future. Thank you for sharing with us. I´m looking forward to my birthday because that is when I will see my parents again.
