Sunshine Sunday - having a show to watch

Ever since Lost ended I haven't had any show that I regularly watch.  It's a silly thing, but I just love having a weekly show to look forward to.  So, after seeing multiple people blog about Project Runway I decided to see what all the fuss was about.

It was Saturday night.  I had just made some chocolate-dipped strawberries for a friend, but I had a full plate left for us.  (And when I say "us" I mean "me.")  I sat down and cued it up.  Let's just say it's the most fun I've had in a long time.  (Pathetic?  Maybe.)  Part way into the second episode the strawberries were pretty much gone and my husband told me I had chocolate all over my face.  I figured he was mostly joking.

I could have stayed up all night watching it!  I did cut myself off eventually and as I went up to my bathroom I realized I really did have chocolate all over my face.  The night was that good.

So?  I'm hooked Tim.  I'm all caught up and counting the days till Thursday.  And bring on the chocolate-dipped strawberries.  It just doesn't get much better than that.

  1. Love this show (and of course your blog!) :) After the show every Thursday, I always check out Dana's funny reviews of the show - http://www.dana-made-it.com/search/label/Runway%20Rundown.

  2. Oh, girl. When I finally got with the program (literally) somewhere in Season 4, I had to order the past seasons on Netflix. I watched them every day until there were no more. Then I cried. I don't watch much TV anymore (RIP Lost), and I don't watch anything except PR without my husband. But I live for Thursday nights. You have got to see the back seasons.

  9. I totally agree! Project Runway is my mommy gateway show as well. It can be quite addicting. If you haven't 'friended' Tim Gunn on Facebook...do it and you'll get another 10 minutes or so each week!

  10. Project Runway is my guilty pleasure as well! I appreciate a reality TV show where the contestants actually have to have marketable skills & talents to progress. The older seasons are entertaining to watch too. "Blogging Project Runway" is a really fun blog to follow to keep up with all of the Project Runway happenings: http://bloggingprojectrunway.blogspot.com/

  12. Oh Project Runway! Last season they did Models of the Runway and had a show about all the models and how they got knocked off, too. You may want to try to get old seasons, it's that good!

  14. LoVE Tim! I have been watching for years and it one of my few shows. RIP Lost. Can't wait to have back Modern Fam, Community, and GLEE. They, with Project Runway, are the extent of my tv time, which has resulted in a lot of book reading time this summer. I watch them online while I craft some sewing project, although I am sure it doubles my sewing time. Hey, "make it work!"
You will have to check out past seasons on lifetime.com and even older seasons on Bravo.com. You may regret it when you are hooked, but you will also love it.

  18. OOoh, how I love project runway! I used to show episodes of the show in my beginning sewing classes to get my students excited about fashion and sewing. It always worked, and now I can't stop watching:) Welcome to a new addiction, and all the past seasons are on netflix, so enjoy!

  19. I just wanted to let you know I just found your bog. I got so caught up in going through your posts, that I don't remember where I found the link. Having two little boys, I gave up on making them cloths. P.J.'s, blankets, and costumes, and not much else. While I have a baby girl now, I am so excited to find that you have soooo many ideas for boys. I can't wait to try them out. Thanks for all the great ideas!

  22. I miss LOST too! We have been trying to fill the void that lost left for months. Luckily we were not really TV watchers in the past so we had years of good TV to fill it's place. CONGRATULATIONS on being in the final 2 for SYTYC!!! You are so talented!

  23. Christie had never watched before this season, either. So the other week she came over and we stayed up until 2:30 watching 4.5 hours to catch her up. Adding chocolate covered strawberries would have taken it to perfection.

oh, and I LOVE TIM, too.

  24. I know what you mean. It is a fun show to watch. A little too much drama sometimes but fun to watch the creative processes.
I'm sad that MaKell didn't make it past the first show. I would have loved to see more from her. The crazy guy with the hat should have gone first.

  25. Oh, Tim. He and I are destined to be best friends.

I would show him my disasterous outfit, and he would tell me to "make it work." I would finish my craft and he would tell me to "clean up my work space." And EVERY time I shop at a fabric store, when I leave, I want to yell "thank you MOOD." In fact, I want a national "talk like Tim Gunn" day. Just because I think it would be divine.

I really like that show....but mostly....I adore THAT MAN!
