Haircuts for Boys

A lot of you asked for this one, so I waited until my nephew needed a haircut and then begged my sister to do a video tutorial.  Here you go!

Hopefully you'll now be saving lots of money on haircuts.  Don't worry if the first haircut isn't perfect.  You'll get better and better and pretty soon no one will be asking if he cut his own hair :)  Just kidding.  It's not that hard and you can totally do it!

Thanks for stopping by!  See you tomorrow!

  9. Thanks for the awesome video! This will be super helpful. I've cut my sons hair terribly a couple times, so I just take him to a salon. This just might convince me to try again. :)

  10. I thought this was so useful and so cute. Frank did a great job sitting ~! He is so funny.
I used to cut my boys hair with this kind of clippers and ended up with them looking like they had bowls on top of their heads..
My father-in-law took over and the boys were much happier.. This video would of been really helpful back then..Thanks

  18. He is super cute! Great job!

When I was younger I HATED haircuts. And to this day, I still do. I think it is because my mom ALWAYS cut too much off. So now whenever I go to get a "trim" I still panic.

  20. Thanks! My poor 14 year old son has only ever had ONE haircut. And that's because I am good at that ONE haircut! The short fade to a 1" guard on top.

Anyone who was married to someone in the Navy will know exactly what I mean!!!!

    Thanks for the Tute!

  21. Cute boy! And thank you! I just started cutting my boys hair, and this answered all of my questions! I will be refering to it more than once I can assure you!

  22. My haircut for boys is similar. When I'm doing the back, I start with the bigger clippers first and then the smaller--I think it's easier to blend in that way. On the top of his head I go over it in both directions, front to back and left to right, and that usually keeps it from having ridges.

  23. Thank you for this! I hope I can be brave enough to try this and save us $11 - $12 on haircuts (per head). Your nephew is SUPER cute! What a great model he was. Lots of personality. Loved it.

  25. He is so cute! And I totally think I could do this! Seriously! I am going to try here in a few days because my sons hair is about there....I'm nervous, but I'll just keep it fairly long so if I have to have it fixed they can fix it short! Tell your sister thanks!!!

  26. He was the cutest little boy! Now, if I can only get my husband to trust me to cut my son's hair. First time around with my daughter I cut her bangs a little too short. Whoops! Thanks for sharing.

  27. What a sweet little boy! Ahhhh! I am excited to be able to cut my boy's hair - he is 7 months so it's still just whispies, but thanks for the video!

  28. Thank you! I will definitely be giving this a try when my boys are due for haircuts.

  29. Thank you. My hubby usually buzzes my son's hair. Now I might try cutting it sometime. Do you think you could give one of these tutorials for girls?

  30. I have been cutting my hubby's and kiddo's hair for as long as little man has been alive. This has helped with some of those little things I wasn't so sure about. Thanks a mil! And yeah, he's SUPER adorable!

  31. Okay, girlies, I'm goin' for it. I have three boys to cut, so with the money I would have spent at Great Clips I'm heading to walmart for the kit. Thanks SO MUCH!!!!

  32. I had a real flash back (and with my Grey hair it is way back) to before the days of Dipity-doo, they had this white gooey stuff my Father affectionally called "Camel Snot" that he put in my brother's hair to get their flat tops to stand up. Then they came out with butch wax and the boys didn't mind wearing that instead of the C.S.!!! I had a good laugh. watching the demo. Thanks!

  33. That was awesome! Just what I needed. Thank you so much!

  36. I JUST cut my son's hair for the first time on my own last weekend. I could have SERIOUSLY used this tutorial before-hand! Oh well...I've bookmarked it for next time! thanks!!!

  37. Thanks so much for this! I have a little guy who has hair that grows fast like mine. It's nice to see how you cut it with the clippers - I'd been doing the whole head by hand. This will be very useful!

  38. Thanks I've been doing my son's hair every since he was 5 mnths since it grows so crazy fast. I'm excited to try and do the spiked hair. I usually just cut his hair short short but this seems fun. I guess I'll let his hair grow out a bit and then take him somewhere and tell them to spike cut it and then do it from then on once its achieved by looking back at this video. Thanks again to you and sis!

  39. Okay, that was awesome. Love you for this one!! I cut all 3 of my boys hair, but I have the hardest time with the longer hair. I have been trying to find a good video on it. Thank you, thank you!! And that little boys was adorable :) I think I need to have my boys watch how good he sat the whole time :)

  40. Thank you for this! Just watched the video with my son. He is TERRIFIED of haircuts and won't let anyone cut it! So I have to sneak in 3 and 4 cuts a day so he can see. The problem is that I never get them straight and he looks a little crazy. He loved watching Cam and promised he's let me cut his hair like that. I replayed the part where you asked him if it hurt and Cam said "no" like 5 times so he could really grasp the idea that there isn't anything to be afraid of. Fingers crossed he makes good on his promise! I soo appreciate this wonderful tutorial!!

  41. This was great. It is nice to learn from a DIY mom instead of a professional. I understood this much better than when I have watched my cosmetologist friends. :) Thanks!

  44. Hey Cheri, I featured this post on "5 Great Finds" this week!

Thanks so much for putting up the video for our benefit!

I told my son I was going to give him a haircut...but I must have taken too long to get started, because he got a pair of scissors and got started on his fringe! Whoops!

  45. One word.. Flowbee!!! Google it! Watch it on You Tube! Then buy one!! SOO FUN! I got mine at DI for 5 bucks!

  46. I can't thank you enough for that video! I have been using the clippers to cut my boy's hair on the sides and back, but have been terrified to cut the top. I'm so ready to try this next haircut and keep that $30 (for two cuts) in my wallet.
