Sunshine Sunday - you, summer, and puppies

I was so thrilled to hear all your insights and ideas with Sharing Saturday yesterday.  Wow.  I am thankful to have such kind, deep, amazing readers.  You guys never cease to amaze me.  Thank you for being a part of this blog.

This week felt like summer.  There are so many things I love about the summer.  One of them is grilling out.  My husband does the grilling and then we roast marshmallows afterwards.

My husband has a lot more patience than I do and he is the king of marshmallow roasting.  This is him concentrating :)

He gets them to melt completely through and he makes them for everyone. They are amazing.

I am so grateful for summer....running barefoot in the grass, not having to spend 10 minutes getting the kids bundled up to go outside, a lot of bright sunshiny days, living in flip flops, it's light until 9pm.  Ah!  So good.

Yesterday my sister got a dog!  This is actually perfect for us.  We get to play with him, but we don't have any of the responsibilites of having a dog.  Not a bad deal, huh?  He's a mini golden doodle.

Isn't he so cute?  His name is Oscar.  He's just 6 weeks old.

Her boys are pretty happy about it.

Life is good.  Thank you for reading.

  1. Oscar is a cutie patootie!! Enjoy your summer. I am doing just that today : having my firs cup of coffee on the deck, kid and hubby still asleep. I'm barefoot, my toosies feeling free, and I enjoy simply listening to the sounds of the little wood patch behind my house, bird and insects are giving a soothing concert. Bliss.

  6. Oh! Love the puppy. I have a Aussiedoodle who is two and I'm just crazy about her. I waited until my kids were grown to get a dog. I knew I would have to take care of it. Love your blog. I check it everyday. Thanks for being part of my day:o)

  7. I laughed when I saw your comment about Oscar. My big sis has a mini farm with horses, goats, donkeys, chickens, and plenty of dogs and cats. We go over at least once a week and my kids love the animals. Then I get to pack the kiddos up and leave all the animals (and the work!) behind.

  8. Mini golden doodle sounds like a good idea. I have a friend with a standard size golden doodle, and she's a big dog, and still has the energy of a puppy, even though she is at least three. That's a lot of dog jumping up and down.

  10. When I was a kid here in Brazil, my sisters and I had no idea what a marshmallow was. So it was a big surprise to find out, many years late, that the white thing the we saw people grilling in American shows tasted sweet and not salty. In our imagination it was some kind of albinistic hamburger or colourless hot dog. Now we can find them everywhere but nobody grill them here.
