Sunshine Sunday - superheros, posing, and morning surpises

I grew up in a family of all girls, so it's been pretty entertaining for me to have boys.  I get a real kick out of them.  You know my giant shelf that I spent a month getting just right?  Notice anything out of place?
Look closer.  Rex likes to have a say in the decor as well now, which is why we currently have Wolverine on display.  It makes me smile.
The boys play dress up just like we used to....only it's a bit more intense.  Check out the fierce claws on little Baden.  Yikes.
Lately Rex has been asking me to take pictures of him.  He'll strike a pose and tell me he's ready and then run back to see how it turned out.  (His poses are seriously funny....and he even tries this after his bath...before he gets dressed.  He makes me laugh pretty hard.)  It's not a real clear picture, but you get the idea.

We let the boys sleep in muscle shirts and undies (or a diaper for Baden) since it's so  hot.  The other day I woke up to Bam-Bam from the Flinstones.
Actually a couple of weeks ago I went in to get him up in the morning and he had taken his own diaper off.  However, I didn't realize it until I picked him up because it was dark.  I was a bit surprised to find a little bare bum in my hand.  Hello!
I am really grateful to have boys.  I love their sense of humor and their strong will.  (Well, sometimes I don't love their strong will :)
Thanks for reading.

  1. I grew up with a single mom and a sister. I just assumed I'd have a girl. Imagine my surprise at the ultrasound when they said boy hah. Its crazy having a wild little man running around my house but I love every second of it!

  2. I agree, I'm expecting my third little boy right now (my older boys are 3 and 4) and it has been an adventure! I was nervous when I found out I was having a boy the first time because I was a very "girly" girl with no siblings, but I had no idea how much fun awaited me! Its definitely high energy but that's part of what makes it so fun!

  3. haha I love the tough guy look with the sofies :) So cute!
I've always wanted a girl of my own but in the past year or so I've really come to terms with and have LOVED having two little boys instead. Somehow an embrace from your little guy can be that much more special... maybe it's the contrast to his usual rough-and-tumble nature. I'm so happy for my two little guys and now wouldn't have it any other way :)

  4. I had two girls 9 and 11 when my son was born, so I knew nothing about boys. Namely their energy level! Woah. My little guy goes 100 miles an hour all day. He too has a strong will and is fiercely independent. He is the light of our family though and I couldn't imagine my/our life without him. Boys are an absolute ball.

Two boys can be very noisy and a serious handfull, but i love them to death and now i can't seem to think what to do with girls..... I love how you picked extraordinairy names! Eva- marie

  12. So adorable and hilarious! I grew up with one sister and now we both each have a boy. It's such a different experience raising boys! I really love it.

And that picture of Rex on the wall is fantastic! A boy on a wall totally deserves to have his photo taken. haha :)
