Sunshine Sunday - brothers, trains, and vikings

I am so thankful that these two have each other.  Now don't get me wrong.  They do a whole lot of fighting, but once in a while I catch a really tender moment when they are laughing together or when Rex is trying to teach Baden something.  I always pray that they will always be good friends.  Rex has heard me say that in our prayers and yesterday in his prayers he said, "And thank you that can can always be buddies."  It was so sweet.  (Please ignore Baden's dirty toenails.  He was playing outside :)

Baden is getting more creative.  Yesterday I came into the room and this is what I saw.  He said, "I'm building a choo-choo train!"  I love seeing him grow and learn and create.

Now Baden is a totally different kid in public than he is at home.  He is extremely unfriendly and crusty to strangers.  So, if you had an unfriendly, stocky little two-year-old, how would you dress him for Halloween?  Yup.  I'm pretty excited about this one.  It's my last year to have a say in his costume and I'm making him a viking.  I bought this hat yesterday and he wanted to wear it all through the grocery store.  It made me laugh.  I LOVE it.

I hope you've had a great week and if you didn't - I'm glad you get to start fresh today.  Thanks for reading.  See you tomorrow.

  3. My two year old little girl is also very "unfriendly" when out in public. Whenever someone speaks to her she will give them the stink eye. Even cute little boys. I will have to bring my camera to try to catch it in actions at some point.

  4. The Babby isn't unfriendly, exactly, but she usually looks away. It's more shy than anything else. Except with certain men - suddenly she morphs into a flirt, and I'm thinking what the heck? She has a real thing for tall broad guys that look like townie firemen...

I have 3 boys and they are older than yours, and they all fight like crazy, but there is nothing better than catching them helping each other or just hanging out as friends. It warms my heart :0)

  6. I have been thinking of dressing my three-year-old as a viking for Halloween. I'd love to see how you put the costume together for Baden. I'm hoping to do it without spending much and I could use some ideas.

  8. I'm so grateful I have three boys! They are the best of friends and never enemies for too long. They have everything in common. The hand-me-downs are an added bonus!

  10. I have two boys also that are just a bit younger than yours. I just LOVE being a mom to boys and I love watching them grow together. Most of the time they are the best of friends. When their is a standoff they duke it out and move on lol They are SO much fun :) Baden's little train is so cute but that crusty look he gives is just priceless!
