Sunshine Sunday- health, games, boys, and time

My husband was gone a few days this week and it was kind of a long week.  I had a few challenges this week, but it's over now.  Whew!  Even during frustrating times, I definitely have tons of things to be grateful for.  I am really thankful to be healthy this week.  It's so easy to take that for granted.

I am thankful for game time with the boys.  We celebrated Valentine's day yesterday (because we needed to do something fun after a few long days without daddy).  I got the boys Busy Town, like many of you had mentioned.  I LOVE this game and so do they.  It's adorable and fun.  We spent a couple of hours playing it yesterday.  Thanks for the great tip guys!

This little guy is doing awesome on the potty.  Wa-hoo!  We still need to conquer #2 (I know, too much information) but he's even wearing undies during his nap time.  He's also been really sweet lately.  Yesterday when I poured him some milk he said, "Thanks for getting me milk, Mommy.  I love you."  It sounds so adorable in his little two-year-old voice.  He also loves hats and already has a weakness for Cafe Rio.  Man, I love this kid.

Even though this guy knows how to push my buttons like no other, he sure is fun.  I love his great sense of humor and hilarious dance moves.  He always comes out to the garage to do a goodbye dance for me when I go somewhere.

I am grateful for time.  It is just so precious.

Tomorrow I have a Picnik substitute to share with you!  I've received so many emails about Picnik closing and now I finally have a solution.  I think you'll like it too.  See you tomorrow.  Thanks for reading.

  1. I am so glad you do posts like this one. You really have to slow down and enjoy everything you have, especially your precious children. I will be doing the same today with my darlings. Also, I can't wait to hear about the picnic substitute, excited excited excited!!

  2. You are such a great mom! This post kind of got me teary! It's a great reminder to sloow it down. Time passes so quickly & it is so easy to always be in a hurry about things. You have adorable boys & I a m grateful for your posts. You always inspire me. Thank you :))

  3. Looks like you had fun! We've had a crazy week this week with lots of sickness. Next week we'll need to plan for some fun time.
I MUST know where you got that Waldo shirt! My husband's nickname growing up was Waldo, so we have a little soft spot for him in our house :o)

  4. I have been wondering what you were going to suggest! Love Rex's shirt. Have a great day!

  5. I love that Where's Waldo shirt!

  6. It certainly is challenging raising young ones!! I'm glad that you stop to appreciate the little things!! Carry on warrior! Even on the toughest days I know that you are a great mom!! I often think of you and pray that your hopes for a third come to fruition ~ we've been there and I know that it can be a difficult journey!
And yeah Rex's shirt is awesome!! DIY version please?!?
I've tested out Picasa as an alternative to Picnik but so far it falls short for me ~ looking forward to seeing what you've come up with! Have you heard about the changes to Google Friend Connect too? Have a wonderful Sunday Cheri!

  7. Who wouldn't develop a weakness for Cafe Rio ;) haha just saying. You have the most darling little boys.

I love the shirt too! Awesome. And you are WAY ahead of us on the potty training.

  9. I love your blog and appreciate the work you put into it! I really don't mind the ads (I understand why they are there!) But there is one ad lately that cuts off the first paragraph or so of your blog lately. It's right in the middle at the top under your header and I can't read the first bit of your posts. I use safari for mac. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks! :)

  10. Your boys are too cute! Love Rex's shirt. I'm glad you were able to spend some quality time with your boys. I did that with my girls this weekend and it was awesome.

  11. I totally feel you about pushing your buttons, my two and a half year old is a pro!! right now I'm teaching him please and thank you when he asks and receives something..know tell me where does he get clasping his hands when he says please and bows his head when he says thank you? I didn't teach him that...and the most precious thing....when I say Goodnight Buddy to him every night, in his little voice comes, "Nite Nite Ma Ma"....I say it to him a couple of times because when he replies, its just too cute....love your blog !!

  12. My three year old makes me laugh when i say "I love you" and he replies, "Me too." It really fits where he is at right now.

  13. i almost bought that game the other day! we were bored from a week without dad too, and my boys decided on hi ho cherry-o instead, and i tell you, three hours of that game makes you still pretty bored.

  14. if you like this game you will love the CURIOUS GEORGE beach discovery game. It's so easy and fun and every time it's different. My 2 year old can even sort of play.
