5 Projects for Spring

Today I wanted to share a few fun spring projects/activities with you guys that you might have forgotten about.  These are oldies but goodies.  Hooray for spring!

1) Spring Scavenger Hunt.  This one was fun to put together and Rex loved it.  Find all the details HERE.

2) Spring Wreath.  Time to spice up the front door?  Here's a wreath a made a while back.  Full tutorial HERE.

3) T-Shirt to Spring Jacket.  This one requires some sewing and patience, but Rex still wears this fun, light jacket.  It was a winner with him.  Find the details HERE.

4) Teacher Appreciation Ideas.  Need something to say thank you to a teacher?  Grab an iTunes gift card and print this out.  You'll find this idea HERE and more ideas and HERE.

5) Summer Sand Cake.  Okay, this one is summer rather than spring, but we're almost there!  It's never too early to whip out a beach-inspired dessert :)  Plus, this one is ridiculously yummy.  Recipe and instructions are HERE.  (Yikes, my boys are growing up!  This picture is a year old.)

Next week I have some fun things to show you.  Hopefully the craft room and the entryway armoire will be done.  Woo-hoo!  On a side note, are there any projects you'd like to see more of around here?  Any topics you'd like to learn more about?  (sewing curtains, boy clothes, activities for kids, etc.)  I'd love your input.

Thanks for dropping in.

  3. I agree, lots of boy clothes tutes please! It is so hard to find tutorials to dress the boy. The tutorials I do find are for more dressy clothes, and my boys play hard. This is why I love your style, you design for the boy who plays.

  4. Great ideas! I saved a couple of egg cartons and I didn't know why. Now I do! Can't wait to try that scavenger hunt with my little man. That summer cake looks like a lot of fun too!

  6. Such fun ideas, Thank you for sharing. And can I just say, that last picture is my favorite! Any picture of someone wearing goggles is alright by me. I don't know what it is, but goggles give me the giggles. :)

  7. I love the idea of the scavenger hunt. Our little boy is hard to get outside at home sometimes, I know, totally not like most boys! Something like this is perfect. BTW, this is my first comment, but I've been following you for a little while now. Not sure how I got here but happy I did!!

  8. These are all so fun. I always like to see boy style ideas - I'm just starting to hit my stride with ideas to make my little man's clothes fun; he's not quite two yet - but I'm excited to sew more for him now and he's starting to express preferences. I love to see what you do and to get ideas!

    Thanks for being awesome!

  14. Ha! I would also agree with everyone! More boys clothes, up cycled stuff, and stuff with characters. I remember a post of yours a while back saying you don't like things that are overly "character"-me too! I like the little detail things like adding a character (I believe it was a transformer?) on the zipper and what not! thanks cheri! Love your blog!

  15. First of all, do they make little boys cuter than that?? I didn't think so.

Secondly, I love the wreath. How do you store it when it's not in use?

  19. If they like treasure hunts, try geocaching. Go to geocaching.com to learn about it. I use the geocaching app to go on real treasure hunts with my 4 year old, so much fun!
