Sunshine Sunday - hope, number two, and Easter

I'd love to say that this week was wonderful, but that wouldn't be the truth.  It was a tough one for a lot of different reasons, but I'm trying to focus on the good.  Sometimes, when things seem pretty tough I am so grateful for hope and faith.  I am thankful to really know that things will get better.  While challenges make me painfully conscious of my faults and failures, am I grateful that I have the desire to improve and to change.  Hope, faith, and love are great anchors.

On a totally different note and mood, I was ridiculously excited that Baden did #2 on the potty.  He's been perfectly potty trained with #1 for 2 months now, but we couldn't ever convince him to do #2.  Well, he did and I screamed and danced with joy.  It's the little things, you know.  I don't have a picture - nor would you want one :)

Lastly, I am thankful for Easter.....new life, new beginnings, new hope.  I hope you have a beautiful day.

Thanks for reading.

I celebrated big time when my son started potty training finally at the age of 3. He refused until then, and then suddenly wanted nothing to do with diapers! He knew when he was ready. :) So happy for your "small" victory...btw, no victory is too small! Just wanted you to know that I read daily, I love your blog, and as I am a mom of a son I am both inspired by and jealous over your projects (i.e. Superhero bedroom) :) I appreciate the time and effort this takes for you and your family so I thank you. As my son would say, "You are supercool!"

Ah yes, had an identical experience this week (potty training) and jumped for joy. He had no idea why I was so happy!

Happy Easter to you and your brood.

Congratulations on the potty training. My daughter is 2 and she demands to wear underpants without a nappy. Only problem is that she has a lot of hits and misses. The other day she wet her underpants 6 times and then she got upset because she'd run out of underpants. We are also renting at the moment so I'm trying to teach her to use the toilet but at the moment she is getting the messages a little too late.

Hope you and your family have a Happy Easter.

I totally get your excitement over a #2! I have one who's pretty great with #1 as well but no #2 yet! When it happens I'll be doing the happy potty dance!

my little boy has been potty trained for about a month now- but not for #2, I have cleaned out so much dirty underwear I can't count anymore, he has used the toliet about half a dozen times but I can't get him to stop hiding to do #2 and tell me he has to go. Any helpful tips or hints? what was the break thru with your little guy?

Hope, faith and love ARE great anchors, on which I've been depending SO much in the last two weeks. As always, thanks for sharing and for being so "real".

Girl! I broke down and CRIED when my little girls managed to poop on the potty. Literally, tears running down my face. My 2nd child (only about 6 months old at the time) was probably a bit confused, to say nothing of my husband's face when he returned from his morning run to find me smiling and crying... probably thought we were pregnant again!! (ha ha). So I get the excitement. Congrats! Hope this next week is better!

You're right about the little things. Sometimes it's the little picture (or things) that bring perspective to the bigger issues of life(not necessarily the other way around). Hope your week is fantastic!

Congratulations to your little one (and to you) on this awesome milestone!

Cute photo of you and your husband.
And we just went thru the SAME thing and had the SAME breakthrough just this past week with #2....oh, what a hard-fought battle that I thought had no end in sight, but this week we are all QUITE joyful!
Hope this week is lovelier for you than last...

I'm not sure what caused the break through, to be honest. We were putting him in a diaper at nap time and night time and that would be the only time he would poop. We kept talking up the fact that he could stop wearing diapers at that time if he would poop on the potty. I guess he finally decided it was worth it. You just never know with two year olds! I wish I had a magic tip, but I don't really. Hang in there!
