Sunshine Sunday - the cabin and a new project

Last weekend we headed up to G-ma and G-pa's little log cabin for a couple of days.

It was so fun to be away and unplug.  The boys had a blast.

This little guy was made for the cabin life.

He helped G-ma make the meals, rode an ATV with G-pa, and slept in a bunk bed.  Can you tell he was in heaven?

The boys love their dog too.  She's tiny and soft like a bunny.

Rex was out cold a couple minutes into the drive home.

The fall colors combined with the rain made the drive home to beautiful.

We came home to a busy week and a bigger leaking shower problem than we originally thought.  (Turns out the previous owners tilde OVER the existing tile and there's moisture and mold up the sides as well.)  I'm trying to look on the bright side and appreciate the chance to have a new DIY project.  The demo has been kind of fun.

Thanks for reading.

Over the river and thru the woods to Gramma and Grandpa's house..I love the stick cabin in the woods and the rock lined path.. Sweet.. Wish we had woods or timber as some people call it on our 40 acres.. Ben would love that idea.. I have many memories of going to Grandma's house and getting a big hug and kiss and lots of love from her.. Love your blog~!~!

Sorry about your shower! What a pain. I am excited to see what you do with it though! You have such great ideas. The cabin looks like a blast. My boy was born for farm life, but I have always wondered how he would like camping. We keep talking about taking him, but never seem to get around to doing it. Maybe one of these days. Happy Sunday!

What a fun trip! We had a huge family reunion at the lake in some cabins a few weeks ago and the kids LOVED did our dog. :) And everyone else.
What a project you goodness! But I bet the boys are having fun knocking down the old tile.
I am still using your wake up wednesday project with my leadership class. It's fun to share the stories in class with them. They are doing some awesome good in our school. :) I love to see that.

Hey there! I was one of the survey responders that said they would be rather disappointed if you started doing your posts where I would have to click to read the rest of the post. I read your blog (and others) on my iPhone thru the Free RSS app. It used to work great but now your posts just end mid-sentence and there's no way to go from my RSS feed page straight to your original post. Another blogger I follow starts each post with a couple of sentences to intro the post and then says "click here to read how I dye my dog's hair" (...or whatever). It makes it very easy to click straight from the RSS app page to her website to read the rest. I noticed you have the same kind of "click here" link on your there a way to add that same "click here" link at the end of the RSS feeds?? It'd make reading your blog soooo much easier!!

Great pictures of grams & gramps, and not too shabby of Olivia. :)

I too am having trouble through Google Reader.. I get you first paragraph as well, but then when I try to link to the site, it never goes through and I don't end up coming to the blog because it's not convenient. I don't have that connectivity problem with any of the other blogs that I have to click to read the whole post, just yours!?

When I go into google reader and see the truncated version, I can click on the title of the post and it brings me to the full post. Does that not work when you try it? Can you let me know? Thanks!

Saw your reply to Roxysmoma...I tried what you just mentioned on my "Free RSS Reader" (I have no idea what the diff is between Free RSS and Google Reader--should I change?? This is all new to me.) and nothing works. Free RSS has a "View Website" link at the bottom of each post but nothing happens when you click on it. The "View Website" link DOES work on the other blogs I follow through Free RSS so it's just yours that doesn't work (which happens to be my favorite so I hate missing your posts!).

Beautiful pictures. I love that sweet fort. Cousin Grant was impressed.
Sorry about the shower. I can't wait to see pics of the finished product though. :)
Those sweet nephews of mine are getting big!!! Oh how I love them.
G-ma said she had a wonderful time with you all. I'm a tad bit jealous. I love the cabin!
Tell R & B that I love them. You and J too!!
