Sunshine Sunday - ninjas, tile, programs, and fruit loops

Honestly, this week was one of those that I was happy to have end.  All my men got sick and it was a bad one.  But we made it through!  Even in difficult times, there are still so many wonderful little moments that make life good.  (If you follow me on instagram @mommaroars you've seen some of these shots.)

I found Rex on the counter in the kitchen like this the other day.  I asked him what he was doing.  "Ninjas always stand around the corner, Mom!"  Duh!  How did I miss that one?  Apparently they climb on counters, too.  This kid was meant for action.

We had a guy tiling the bathroom all week.  It's still not done and I'm not sure when he'll be back, but it's progress.  Yay.

Baden had his first preschool program.  He had a line to say up at the microphone and he nailed it.  I was so proud of my little shy guy.

I found this picture in my files that I had overlooked.  It made me happy.  My little fruit loops make life so much deeper (and sometimes harder) and happier....which is all a blessing.

Now on to Christmas!  I am really excited it's here.

Then mid-January we get to have our big ultrasound to find out the baby's gender, though I must admit I am seriously tempted to go to the place at the mall that does the ultrasounds because I'm far enough along to tell now and I'm not so patient.  It seems like a nice way to overlook all this sickness.  Should I wait or shell out a little dough to find out sooner for fun?  Hmmm....

Well, thanks for dropping in.

  2. We have always paid the extra money to go find out! I don't know how people wait!

  3. I am so curious. But I'm going to be a Negative Nancy and say save that dough because you're going to want it for something else ;)

  4. Just wait! You want the ultrasound to be right for sure! What if they do it, then you go to the Dr and it is different?! Ah! Are your boys just so excited for Christmas?!

  5. I didn't do the private ultrasound with my first but did this pregnancy
its so worth it!!! It's a family environment as opposed to the medical office and the pictures/video came out soooo well!!!! It was well worth it to get to see the new little one moving all around.

    1. I totally agree! We're pregnant with our third and have never found out. But I like waiting for surprises and I know most people aren't that way. (It drives most of our family and friends crazy that we never find out and I have to admit, that's half the fun! :)

  9. Where is there still a private ultrasound place?? I've been trying to find a place for my SIL to go, but the one at my mall closed years ago... (You could email me if you don't want to reveal where-ish you live :-) )

  10. I'm on my third bebe, with 2 months to go... I've never had an ultrasound with any of them. God didn't put a window, & ultrasound waves at that strength are strong enough to sterilize a man for months if you bounce em off his testicle. No thanks. I just wait & see.... Will i be "my three sons" or will we have a princess? I'll see in February!

  11. Hard choice. I would want to go, but I would also want to save the money to spend on the new munchkin. Either way, let us all know!!

  12. Waiting is so hard. We don't have any in the malls around us...we have the 3D ultra sounds but they suggest you wait even longer for those.
I say wait though. Mid January isn't that far away! Think of it as a late Christmas present :o)

  14. We're on our 5th. We have 2 girls and 2 boys....so my husband had the great idea that this one should be a surprise. It's horrible not knowing!!! Luckily I only have 10 more days till we find out.

  15. i would wait. I was so protective that i never even took an aspirin during pregnancies. What sort of certification do the mall folks have ?? How safe are they ??

  17. I went at 17 weeks because I had the same amount of morning sickness that you did.. and it was something that made it worth it... it definitely helped me bond more with the baby after I knew :) I say that the 60$ you spend is worth you... you won't miss it months later. But that's just me :)

  19. My husband couldn't get off work for our ultrasound so we went a week early to find out and he could be there. I liked it way better because it was focused on seeing baby's fingers and toes versus at the doctors where there were pictures of organs that are undistinguishable to us. I'd say do it!

  24. I say spend the $$ It's so worth it! They do focus on the precious parts of your baby. When I was prego with #2 the dr barely even snapped a picture of him for my records. And he only did because I asked!
