PLEASE READ THIS!

Sorry, but we're taking a break from our normally scheduled "Feature Friday" today.

It's been a little over three months since I started this blog.  It has been a lot of fun and I want to thank you all for becoming a part of it....whether you read each day and leave kind comments or drop in here and there or just glance at the pics.  You are all a part of this blog and I appreciate you!

So, you've got my ear.  I REALLY want to know what you like, don't like, what you want to see more of....all that stuff.  Below I listed a few questions that I'm hoping you'll answer - even if you never usually comment.  I want this to be a place you'll keep coming to and a place you'll tell friends about.  So here we go....

Answer whichever questions you want to:

Do you read Soapbox Saturday or would you rather have a giveaway each week?

Would you like a "Sharing Saturday" where I would tell you about an issue I'm having and you can provide solutions?  (Kind of like how everyone pitched in about smoothie suggestions.)

Do you read Sunshine Sunday posts or do you skip them because you're just here for the crafts and not the extra info and family pictures?

What do you want to see more of?

Do you read the text or just look at the pictures?

THANK YOU for your input.  It means a lot to me.  Now tell me how it is!

  1. I think your blog is cute the way it is! It's one of the reasons I became a follower...just be yourself and do what pleases you. Obviously, it is working! (whispering: but I do like Giveaways!)

  2. I like your blog the way it is, but the sharing saturday could be fun just to change things up every now and again. :) Just my .02 :)

  3. I like everything you've been doing, but your new ideas sound fun! Just do what makes you happy and we'll still be here. :)

  4. I like Soapbox Saturday, I would also like Sharing Saturday and I LOVE giveaways. I do often skip the Sunshine Sunday Posts. I do read the text and I love everything you have done. I like that there is a good mix of stuff for me, stuff for my kids, and stuff for my home. Love it keep up the great work!

  5. I like the blog the way it is. I read everyday. It gives craft ideas and makes me think about stuff I maybe didn't think of before or seeing it from another angle. I would not mind a giveaway now and again.

  6. I like it the way it is. I like soapbox Saturday and sunshine Sunday--gives a glimpse into your life which is part of what I like about blogs. I think the sharing sounds good--perhaps it's another day's theme? I read and look at the pictures.

  7. I only occasioanlly read the Soapbox Saturday. It depends on the topic. I think the sharing could be good, and I'm always a fan of giveaways! The Sunday posts just depend on my mood, sometimes I read them, sometimes I don't, sometimes I just look at the pictures (for Sunday). As for the regular posts, I usually read them, not just look at the pictures. Though I love pictures. It really just depends on the topic and my time. But I do like text to at least explain the pictures.

  8. I mostly come to your blog to see craft ideas. I also like reading about and seeing your personality and family because it makes it all feel more real. I like things the way you have them but in my opinion...if you were to change something...more crafty stuff and less personal.

  9. I like it all. Of course a giveaway is always really fun. I wouldn't mind seeing some of your stuff for sale so I could purchase it. I read everything you have to say. Sunday is a little fluffy but I like all the pictures of your family.

  10. I love your blog!! its super cute & super fun! my favorites are probably the tutorials....I love that you share a lot of projects for little boys. I have a 20mth old son and b4 I found your blog I was having a hard time figuring out some cool clothes I could make for him!
Thanks so much for sharing your life with us!!

  11. I rarely touch the computer over the weekend, and on Mondays there is so much in my reader I often don't get to stuff posted over the weekend.
Your playroom transformation has been completely amazing. I want to see more of your mad skillz. I'm less interested in sponsors (although I know why they are there) and in giveaways as I am in your creative genius. :-)

  12. I love your blog so much that when I found it a few weeks ago I went and read every post. Every. Single. One. Stalkerish eh? So I don't care if you want to shake things up and make changes or not - I'm sure whatever you do will be just fine with me.

  13. I love everything about your blog. I read it everyday. Keep up the great posts!

  14. I love the blog! Though I'm probably in the minority here I like that there aren't many giveaways. I do read the commentary you add, I enjoy it, you have a great sense of humor that makes the blog a lot of fun. I enjoy the Saturday and Sunday posts. Adult footed pajamas, can help but smile when I think of that post!

  15. I enjoy everything about your blog including anything you post on saturday or sunday. It fun to read about how other people live and work and play. I read everything you post and look at the pictures. I also think you have a good mix of crafting and real life but anything you want to add can only make it better.

  16. I do read Soapbox Saturday. I'm not big as big on entering giveaways as I'd like to be just because my time is limited. But that doesn't mean I don't like them. I do like to enter them occasionally!

Sunshine Sunday is great. I love crafty blogs but I also learning about the people behind those blogs. To me, blogging isn't only about posting and reading but building relationships!

I love seeing all of your little boy creations. I have a little boy and until I found your blog was at a loss of creative things to make for him.

I'll be honest sometimes I read the text but the majority of the time I look at the pictures in all blogs. That's just because right now my time is so limited. But I do find myself marking posts with interesting titles that I want to save to read for a rainy relaxing day.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog. I really wouldn't change a thing!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I read your blog daily, every day because I am always so anxious to see what creative things you've come up with. You're doing a great job. I think the reason I'm most drawn to your blog is the fact you have boy tutorials, and a lot of them, and cute ones!! Having boys myself I don't find a lot of boy tutorials in blogland.

  18. Giveaways are nice, but I prefer reading real posts, honestly. I don't always read the Saturday & Sunday posts, but that's because I am busier on the weekends. :)

I love photos! But I do try to read the text too. It's just that photos get my attention, then I have to go back & read what the photos are about- lol!

    HTH.

    Happy Weekend!
    -Sarah

  19. I don't care about giveaways, so I prefer real posts (whatever the form). But I will keep reading whatever the post. I love your crafts -- you are one of my favorite sites!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love your blog just the way it is!! I love the crafts. I love hearing about your family. It's great. Of course more giveaways would be awesome ;)

    ReplyDelete
  21. I like it all Cheri-- it rounds your whole blog out. It's great! I do read your Saturday And Sunday stuff and I think it's awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I really enjoy the little bit of variety. Ie: when the crafts are not all the same TYPE, or your little family tidbits. You're doing GREAT!

    Love, me

  23. I love your blog!! I usually read mon-fri religiously, but not so much on the weekends. The weekends entail a lot of running at our house, so I'm not on the computer as much. I love your craft ideas (actually going to get paint today so I can try your apple tree idea in my kid's room:) !)
I love giveaways (not that I ever win), but I love seeing new products and such from the sponsors. Thanks for your wonderful blog- I really enjoy it!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm with the few before me who aren't really into giveaways - I prefer "real" posts and I HATE it when a blog I love becomes overrun with giveaways/sponsors.

I do actually read your posts, all of them (although I usually read Saturday and Sunday on Monday, I try to stay off the computer on weekends). Like Ashley above me said, I like the personal stuff - getting to know the person behind the blog. I like having that glimpse into your life and where you're coming from.

Love, love, LOVE the boy stuff. I have one of each and my poor son is SO neglected compared to his sister. That was what originally drew me to your blog. :o)

And finally, yes, ditto what Amy above me said - I love that it's not all the same stuff - you have some stuff to make for the kids, some for you/women, decorating stuff, etc - it's great!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I read it all ... keep up the good work!

    ReplyDelete
  26. you've only had this blog for 3 months?!??! you have quite the following for such a short time so you MUST be doing something right! :) what i would like to know is, what is your secret? i do not enter very many giveaways or sponsor "thank yous", and when a blog has too many, i get bored and tend to skip over them. i like content and photos (especially crafts)--basically i like what you already do! :) keep it up, lady!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of givaways. I've actually unsubscibed to several blogs that I used to love because they were getting overrun by giveaways. Everything else... I LOVE!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ok I'm determined to answer all your questions (yes, I'm an over achiever! Well not really).
    1. I read the soapbox Saturdays, sometime you've hit on a topic that really is interesting! However, giveaways are always awesome. I'm split on this. Sorry (maybe my answers won't help at all! hmm)
    2. I like the idea of sharing Saturday, sometimes I read a blog and think "Oh, I know an easier way, or I've heard..." but I don't have enough knowledge for my own blog. I love learning from others and the more opinions the better, right? (as long as they're polite)
    3. I always read sunshine Sundays, it makes your crafts more personal. And there have been times I've changed my attitude about my own situation from reading your outtake on life.
    4. I would love more toys I can make, with a hubbie in school I have no money to buy cheap toys (cheap in fabrication). But I also like seeing how you decorate your house, and clothes you made/decorated. I have REALLY enjoyed your blog, and the crafts you've done so far. My list is already way long but I'm excited to add to it.
    5. You're one of the few blogs I read the text, even if I'm not interested in the particular craft. I love the way you write. I just wish you were my neighbor (any chance you're moving to Logan ut?)
Oh bother, that was huge!! Haha, well thanks and keep up the good work and take my opinion with a grain of salt eh? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I prefer the boy related crafts as I, like you, have 2 boys and see that most craft tutorials are girl related. I mostly breeze through what you do on the weekend, but am amazed that you find time to blog everyday. You do what makes you happy and I'll take the pieces that I like :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I love your blog and started reading for the boy crafts. I have made several shirts for my son and enjoy the ideas you have. I haven't seen one yet but I was wondering if you had a flicker group set up for people who make projects from your ideas - those are always fun.

I actually read all of your posts and enjoy the pictures as well. Your boys are adorable.

I think doing a sharing Saturday would be pretty fun!

Thanks again for all of your ideas - LOVE em!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm a very new follower, like maybe a week or so? So I haven't really had a chance to get to know you yet! hehe I like personality in the blogs I read though, so do what pleases you!

Oh, and I'm usually a full-text reader when the pictures are good. If the pictures aren't good I usually lose interest pretty fast. But you don't seem to have that problem at all. :)

  32. I follow a lot of blogs, but your's is one of my favorites. I love all of your craft ideas, but I also enjoy your personal pictures and stories. I love hearing other moms' stories and knowing that all of us (whether we know each other in person, or through our blogs) are special and share a special bond as moms. Thanks for ALL of your posts! I try to read them every time, but sometimes my crazy life only allows me to look at the fun pictures before one of my little girls needs attention again.

  33. i really like your blog! it's so fun, love the pics, and you have some AMAZING ideas! that play room...sigh! just love it! =)
i read every post and like the blog just the way it is. it's a fun hodge podge...i like that you mix in your family with the crafty side too! it's fun to know the person behind the crafts, ya know? the sharing saturady would be a fun addition on occasion to mix things up and add a little somehting extra. i think you do a great job! it's hard to believe it's only been 3 months!!! thanks for sharing so much with us! i love it!
    =)

  34. I love this blog. I dont usually read Saturdays I loke the new idea though.I love the Sundays it helps remind me to be more grateful for the things in my life.I do appreciate giveaways :) & do love more craft projects & ideas & your awesome decorating ideas!!!

  35. To be honest - I dont care if its a giveaway or a special post for a certain day. I like your pictures, pictures of you (so cute!) and the DIY stuff. The DIY i would say is my absolutely favorite!

  36. I love it the way it is. You have a great variety and I do read all your posts!
Also I am giving you an award on my blog. Please come and accept!

  37. I like it all. My favorite are the tutorials with pictures of just any craft idea. You are so talented. Your creativity rubs off on me when I read your blog...so thanks!!

Oh- I would love more toddler bleach pen ideas. I'm not artsy and have a hard time "free-handing" stuff like that.

  38. It's your blog - that's why I like it. Don't change it for anyone besides yourself. I personally like lots of pictures with little text. That's because I skim read anyways. Cute blog!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I like the sewing and the crafts and the funny faces of the kiddos, hope that covers everything. Thanks for asking, but like the gazillion folks already wrote, it really is just FINE.

  40. I love your blog the way you do it...but I am sure if you added in new ideas it would work great too. I do not always read lots on the weekend...although if I did miss out I almost always catch up on Mondays. But, pretty much if I see you have posted something I come and check it out. You are pretty much that fabulous. And I seriously follow A LOT (I would hate to tell you how many because it is seriously well over 100) blogs. And most of them I do not read all the time. Yours. I. read. every. day. Love it. Love coming here. Love all your ideas. You really are amazing. Seriously.

  41. I like Soapbox Sat, but I like giveaways too, and a Sharing Sat would be a lot of fun! Alternating them out might be an idea. I personally like Sunshine Sunday! Your family is beautiful, and I enjoy getting to know a little about you on that level. I always read your text, and I really like all of your craft and home decor ideas (that is what initially got me hooked.) so I would love to see more of that!

    ReplyDelete
  42. It's a good blog - I have you on my sidebar so I can keep reading daily. I do read everyday - though sometimes I just skim and look at the pictures :) Everybody likes giveaways though! I really enjoy the boy stuff you create - I have a newborn boy and had no idea if I could make him clothes - but your blog helps me get inspiration to make him stuff!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think the blog is great as it is Cheri! Everyone always loves giveaways, but sometimes I think giveaways make it look like you are trying too hard.
I think the Soapbox Saturdays/Sunshine Sundays are a fun glimpse into your life. I'm biased, but your family and little life are so cute!
What you are doing is working. your blog is fun, crafty and a joy to read! Hope it continues to be a joy to YOU!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I like your blog that's why I became a follower!
I really love your boy craft/sewing stuff it is so hard to find anything boy in the craft world and I have 3 I like to do stuff for!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love and read everything. I'm not a fan of giveaways unless all I have to do is leave a comment. But other people seam to love them. I don't think you could go wrong either way.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I love your blog! I started reading it because I have a son named Baden and I happen to catch a glance at the shirt you made under one of the "you might also like" and I really did like it and a lot of other things you do! (I think I went through most of the past posts that same day.)
So to answer your questions I do read your Saturday and Sunday posts. It makes me think I really know you and am friends with you.
There are days I don't read the words but most of the time I do.
And I love all of your crafts and ideas!
    So thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I read all of your posts! I like having a glimpse into your family life, it makes me feel like you're my friend (I'm pathetic that way). I love your home decor ideas and I LOVE the things you make for boys! I have two, and sometimes I get sad that I can't put them in ruffley dresses and flowery headbands. =( Your blog THANKFULLY takes care of that! Thank you for sharing your awesome and creative work!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I cannot believe that your blog is so "young"! I love your stuff.

I enjoy Soapbox Saturday, but I also love giveaways (and agree with the comment above about giveaways being better if all we have to do is comment, instead of running all over the blogosphere), so I am great either way. I don't often read Sunshine Sunday, but that's because I don't usually check my blogs on Saturday/Sunday, so I have a TON of unread posts on Mondays. Only the brightest and the best get read, so I usually go for the craft/tutorial/idea posts over the extra info. And I mostly do just look at the pictures.

I love all of what you do! Keep it up and I'll be happy. :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't usually comment but since you asked i will. I love your blog. i am a mother of 4 boys myself so anytime there's someone who has ideas for boy stuff i love it. You have so many great ideas. I love tutorials because it makes it so easy. I so want a playroom like yours. Just keep doing what your doing and we'll keep reading.

  50. I agree that your blog is cute the way it is. You are doing fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

  51. I am kind of new to your blog and
I absolutely LOVE IT!! and you inspire me so much to make cool things for my son. I have not try them yet but I certainly can't wait to make them.
I like how you share a piece of your life, motherhood, crafts and etc on your own way and that is what makes this blog so unique!
What a joy to have found such a fun, upbeat and different blog.
    Your kids are super cute!
I hope to read much more! Great job with the Blog!! LOVE IT!!

  52. Sometimes putting to much thought process into something clogs the works and although I thank you for considering us, I have to encourage you like any good Mommy (darn, I try to be anyway, tries to be) to follow your heart.

I think you should just do what you like and to heck with it...for having a new blog you are very successful having so many followers.

Obviously, what you are writing appeals to us of we would not continue to subscribe and come back for more to see what you have written today.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I just started following your blog and have come for all the arts and crafty stuff - in particular all the boy clothes! It is so hard to find reasonably priced cool boy clothes, and to make them myself - too perfect! So keep that coming please. I think a sharing Saturday would be good too.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I read your blog EVERY day!!! I love your ideas and actually made some of them. I love your tutorials especially for fun hair stuff and other accessories... Love your pics that walk you through the process. You are so talented. I wish I could sew like you. Blog away, girl! We love it!!!

  55. Ok here goes

Sometimes the info you give in soapbox saturdays peaks my interest, but everyone loves a giveaway!

I ADORE your sunday posts! Your family is adorable!

I also like the idea of you posting things you're having issues with and people posting. Sometimes, I get great ideas from your comments too!

I always read all of the text. You are very witty and funny so I don't want to miss anything.

AND I love feature fridays because I get to find other blogs I may have never seen and check out THEIR craftiness too!

Thanks for all your hard work and creativity!

    Jenn

  56. I check your blog every day and find myself wishing you posted multiple times a day :) Of course, then you'd have no life and never see your boys. I love the "family" stuff because i have a son and most of the "crafty" blogs out there are mostly all about girls. It's nice to not only see crafts for boys and mommas (i've done several of them!) but to see how you guys live your life day-to-day. Makes me feel a little more normal when i see what your life is like. Most blogs i just look at the pics, but on your blog i usually read the text, too - you don't write TOO much like some bloggers, just enough to be interesting and informative without rambling. So overall, i love what you're doing, keep on doing it! (Although giveaways are always fun ;)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I love the boys t-shirts you do, I think that is most unique-ly you from what I have seen. Can't wait to make some for my little boys! I have 2 that are about the same age as yours- 2 and 5 months.

    ReplyDelete
  58. My fav part are the craft ideas...and I looove your videos! It makes me think, "I could totally imagine having her as a friend!" hahaha

All the best in developing your blog! It would be great if you can find a balance between what is needed to progress your blog and what you naturally enjoy posting.

    Good luck!

  59. I love your blog and try to look at it every day.....I look forward to the different days of the week with something new and fun each day. Thanks for all you do.

  60. It's all fabulous. I do love the tutorials and crafty-stuff, in particular. I wouldn't kick a giveaway outta bed for eating crackers, however ;)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Like the million comments before mine, I enjoy the tutorials the most but also like to know the mom behind the blog. I love seeing all of the pics and home decorating stuff, as well.

    ReplyDelete
  62. firstly, thank you for asking! here's my two cents:

giveaways, to me, are obnoxious when they become the focus. i've unfollowed a few blogs because i feel i'm just being advertised at. your sponsors are great- but we don't need to be bombarded! not speaking to any posts you've made in the past or anything :)

i guess what i'm getting at is this- i follow your blog because you have great ideas, not because you're giving stuff away.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I love your blog. I found it just about the time I had my son (which was a couple of months ago) and I was totally inspired by all the "boy" ideas you put out there. I read your blog everyday. I love the great photos that accompany your posts. Most are very helpful and other times just fun! A "Sharing Saturday" sounds great, but it might be even more great if you talked about issues others have emailed you about in addition to your own. I love the extra info and seeing pictures of your family. Your kids are adorable by the way!! The only thing I would like to see change is the rest of the blog. There's nothing in your "YOU Roared!", "FAQ", or "Whoops!" tabs and that makes the rest of the blog seem empty.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I do like Soapbox Saturday, because it helps us get to know you better. I only honestly enter giveaways if you don't have to enter a million ways and only get one entry. Short and sweet:).

I like Sharing Saturday because it's nice to know you and others have some of the same questions!

I do read your Sunshine Sunday posts.

Tutorials are always great, and I think you are set on them. I almost always read all the text on things, but pictures are always great!

In conclusion, I guess you can count me as someone who likes your blog how you do it!

    ReplyDelete
  65. your blog is really cute and I love that you have certain days of the week for certain things. I don't usually enter many giveaways, but it's really whatever you like to do. I do like it though when bloggers interact with their readers somehow, by email or whatever, just makes it fun! You're doing awesome though, obviously. :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. I like it all, but am not big on giveaways. I really love all the craftiness and the tutorials. You're awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I can't believe you've only had this blog for three months! I started in March myself and have idolized yours. It's always full of beautiful pictures and great ideas. I think it's great. Do what ever you want, and if it doesn't work, change it back!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I like how you mix it up and do a bit of everything. I like you as you are!

    ReplyDelete
  69. I actually REALLY look forward to your Sunshine Sunday posts. It gives us a glimpse of the real you and makes your blog seem more personal :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. I really like your blog just the way it is. I read most of the text, most of the time. And I'm so jealous that you've only been doing this for 3 months and are so good at it! P.S. I do LOVE giveaways!
