Soapbox Saturday - Cassie's House for Sale

So you know how I've showed you my sister's cute remodeled home?  Well, I have wonderful and horrible news.  She's moving.  Yup.  That IS the wonderful and horrible news.  Her husband got a great new job far, far away and they have to sell their adorable home.  I thought I'd post it here before the sign goes up, just to see if they could possibly sell it themselves.  I know you guys loved the series on her home and I thought maybe one of you or someone you know might be looking of a home in Sandy, UT.

Also, we need your help.  Do any of you live in Indianapolis and know the area well?  How about Carmel specifically?  If you do could you PLEASE drop me an email?  That would be awesome.  You'll be the hero of my day.

Okay, so back to the house.  Remember it?  The family room....

....the kitchen....

...with the Batcave....

...and the mudroom/laundry room.

Here's an older picture of the front of the home.

So if you're interested here are some of the details.

The home was built in 1984.  It sits on .21 acres and has a great fenced backyard.  The square footage is about 1980.  It's a split level and as you know EVERYTHING has been redone.  The baseboard, trim, doors, acacia wood floors, front door, paint, and carpet are all brand new.  It's located in an awesome neighborhood.  If you are interested or have questions you can send an email to cassiesroarhouse@gmail.com.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I live in Indiana, but south near Cincinnati. The company that I work for The Hoosier Wall Bed Co. specializes in wallbeds, and custom cabinetry. We do alot of business in Carmel, In. It is a lovely upscale community near Indianapolis. Unfortunately that is about all I know about the area. I have a daughter that loves to ski and moved to SLC, Ut several years ago. Your sister's house is lovely and she shouldnt have any trouble selling it. Best of luck to her and her family on their big move to INDY. We are very friendly people and they should feel very much at home very quickly. Sue

  2. I live in Carmel. I have lived in Indianapolis for my entire life. (Yikes, 32 years in one place!)

If your sister is moving to Carmel, there isn't a better place in Indy to move. The schools are amazing. There are tons of parks, bike trails, and community activities. Carmel is close to the cute town of Zionsville, a short car ride to downtown, and is close to the interstate which can take you anywhere pretty quickly. Downtown Indy has, of course, the amazing children's museum, the zoo, and White River Gardens. It is a great place to have raise kids. I have a 3 and 2 year old and we can always find something to do.

I sent you and email, if you have any specific questions. - Melissa

  4. I live in Utah and I'm moving to CIncinnati this summer, so I'm no help for you. But I did just want to say your sister's house is gorgeous, and I have no doubt she'll be able to sell it quick! So sorry for you. Sisters are the best (I have three of them) and it's no fun to live apart from one another!

  7. My husband and I lived in Indianapolis for a couple years, but moved away about a year and a half ago. They have a terrific downtown (with tons of parking), and a wonderful zoo and Children's Museum. We miss the Children's Museum. It has five floors, and includes dinosaurs, trains, and indoor play areas, including a carousel. All of that is only about 15 or 20 minutes from Carmel.

  10. Carmel is a nice upscale suburb of Indy. You have to like suburbia. Whenever you visit your sister, make sure to go to the Children's Museum! It is amazing and I think it is the largest in the US. And Southern Indiana is beautiful.

  11. I grew up Indiana, south of Indianapolis, but have family who lives in Carmel. Yes, the Children's Museum is GREAT, as well as the Indianapolis Zoo. If your sister's family likes baseball games, seeing an Indianapolis Indians game is fun. I grew up in Southern Indiana, and Brown County, Indiana is gorgeous in the fall. People drive from all around to check out the fall color.

  15. I live in Westfield which is right next to Carmel, IN. Westfield is a little less expensive than Carmel. This is such a great area for families! There are great schools and many wonderful parks! Tell your sister to check out the Monon Center, it's a fitness center that offers lots of classes and camps for the whole family. There is an amazing water park there that you can buy a summer family pass.

  20. I live in Brownsburg, IN which is a suburb to the nortwest of Indianapolis. It isn't as busy as Carmel but has AMAZING schools and is close to everything. If I didn't live in Brownsburg I would live in Zionsville it too has wonderful schools and is a little more relaxed. Good luck to your sister.

  21. Carmel is beautiful, but also very expensive. I agree with Wanda in that Zionsville would be my choice.

  22. I live in Avon, Indiana. I agree, also check out Brownsburg and Zionsville (Brownsburg, Plainfield & Avon are all suburbs on the West side of Indianapolis in Hendricks County.) Although beautiful, Carmel is an expensive place to live. Indiana is a wonderful place to live and to raise a family.
