Yesterday I showed you the new task board for my boys. Today I'll show you where I put it.
I had three frames that I wasn't using anymore, so I sprayed them all gray.
I hung the task board at the bottom so the boys could reach it. I took a picture of them for the middle frame.
Sidenote: Do you know how inexpensive prints are at Costco? Wow. $2.99 for a 12"x12" which is about 6 or 7 times more expensive at a normal photo store. I love that place.
I designed some art based on one of my favorite children's songs at church. Baden pumps his little fist in the air when he sings this song and I LOVE it. The first few lines are exactly what I want to teach my boys. "Dare to do right. Dare to be true. You have a work that no other can do." I didn't make the print in other colors, but if you want the file in these colors I'm happy to email it to you.
It's the wall they see on the way down the stairs, so I figured it was a good place for all of it. It's also where they put their dirty laundry.
It's the first thing I see when I walk out of our bedroom, which makes me happy.
And I thought I'd tell you what's in the future here on the blog. June we'll have hair week again. I have some great guests lined up. In June and July you'll see me decorate our bedroom - which I've never really shown here. There will be fun projects and with befores and afters.
I'm also toying with some other ideas. Would you be interested in a curtains week - full of different, easy types of DIY curtains? How about learning activities for your kids? (Whether or not I blog about that, it's something I will be doing a lot of in these summer months.) I'd love to throw in some boy sewing projects as well. Whew! Lots to squeeze in! Let me know what you're interested in.
Thanks for stopping by.

Oh I need to stop being so surpised at your amazing ideas. And I would love a copy of the print if you don't mind. Thanks Cheri.

What you can do with spray paint! Love it! And your plans for upcoming posts sound great! I'm super excited about boy sewing projects and your master bedroom makeover! Cant wait :)
ReplyDeleteVery cute idea, and I'd love to have a copy of that file! Thanks for the great idea and offer for the art. Belanger.liz@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI have an idea each summer but will never get around to it. Maybe some building/sorting/project fun with the kids using clean containers from Costco. You know the neat tubs the pies come in, and the boxes from the chips bags-thrifty and green fun with stuff you always buy! You always have great ideas for things!
ReplyDeleteCurtains!!!!! Yes,yes, yes!!! Just what I need! Thank you!

I love to read about some easy DIY curtains this summer plus some sewing projects for boys!
ReplyDeleteBring on the curtain diys. And yes, love the print too.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a copy of this print. I am game for whatever you have in store for us. Curtains, kids activites, and boy clothes (since all I have in my house are boys, including the dog!)

I like all the ideas you suggested, I always like to see different curtain ideas (have you ever visited the Nester, she's all about curtains). Boy sewing, yes, you haven't done that in a while. And alas, no Costco for 40 miles. You'd never believe I live in the 3rd largest city of PA, must move. Bring it on!!
ReplyDeleteCURTAINS! Holy cow, it would be an answer to a prayer if you were to do DIY curtains! I'm in desperate need, and don't know my bum from a mound in the grass. :-*
ReplyDeleteLOVE! I can't wait for June and all of your tutorials. How about a re-organizing tute...like using different (unexpected things) for storage, etc? My sewing/craft room DESPERATELY needs HELP! It's a TINY TINY space 7x10 and it's really hard to get things organized (without taking up every inch of floor space I have!)
ReplyDeleteI would love some curtain tutorials! I have some fabric to make some curtains but just have a mental block as to what to do next!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely learning activities for kids! I'm going to be working hard this summer on teaching my son to recognize all the letters and sounds of the alphabet, since he didn't catch on so great in preschool and I want him ready for kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to learn about curtain making, as well. Keep it coming! Thanks!
I can't wait for hair week. New mom=boring ponytail or hair being grabbed. :) And curtain week would be fantastical! I have the old granny sheers/tracked curtains and they are super ugly (and in bad colors), so any ideas are super welcome! And I'm quickly learning how awesome costco photo is too! I need to get some big prints made as well.
ReplyDeleteI am super excited about hair week! And boys sewing projects are always great! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'd love some learning activities to supplement my own. I'm starting to homeschool my 3rd grader and Pre-K daughter this summer and I'll be blogging about it. I'd love to read your ideas!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool wall for the boys! Also, I'm excited bout hair week! Always love it :) And all the other suggestions are right up my alley...curtains, kids activities...I'm all in!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know what your typical day is like -- how do you keep the chaos at a minimum? I know when taking pictures, sometimes stuff is swept to the side, but your home always looks so neat & tidy! What responsibilities do you give your little men, etc?
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Beautiful and simple. Love it!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I am always interested in everything you do, but I would especially love a glimpse of your learning activities for kids.
ReplyDeleteSo cute,I would also love a copy of the print also.

Love Costco photos! Way overdue for some enlargements with both kids....maybe before my baby turns 1 in July:(
ReplyDeleteI was waiting to see your task board wall bec I am planning to make one soon with an old white/magnet board I have and was happy to see this morning that you did yours in essentially the same spot I have my eye on! I have plans for our tiny landing upstairs:). I also have plans to make growth charts from yardsticks and hang them in between doors where there's just enough room for that and nothing else! Thank you for getting me excited to actually complete a project;)
I would be excited to see some learning activities!
Some boy sewing projects and activities!
ReplyDeleteDIY curtains would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great print. I'd love a copy too!
ReplyDeletelyndseyandbrett(at)gmail
Curtains would be a good thing for me right now. And boy projects are ALWAYS good.
I love the how your wall looks! Yes, curtains, & boys stuff! I have an almost 7yr old boy, and would love some projects for the older boys! I love reading your blog and can't wait to see what you have in store for the summer.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'd love the Dare to do Right print, too. I love that song! My email is jengerbread.creations AT gmail DOT com
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. Art is always better in threes.
ReplyDeleteRandom question - How do you store all of your photos? I have a blogger account and I am worried that I will run out of space. If I delete the photos from picasa, it deletes it from my blog and leave a big black box. Do you have this issue? How do you get around storage issues? Thanks!
I love the print!! & would love to have a copy. Adcole@vt.edu
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! I read everyday .
DeleteI like all those ideas! Especially the learning activities and boy sewing projects. I have two boys and am expecting another hot summer. Any ideas to keep us all occupied are welcome.
ReplyDeleteA DIY curtain blog would be really great!! Maybe a few DIY roman blind tutorials?! I desperately need to make some for my kitchen! :-) Love your blog!!
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely blog about kid's activities--we need things to keep us busy this summer! And I would love a copy of the print as well! maranda_32@hotmail.com
