Teeny Tiny Baby Leggings

So I am actually alive.  I just feel like a zombie.  I'm still feeding this little girl twice a night and I'm a bit worn out.  However, I did get a chance to sew her some teeny tiny leggings yesterday.

I used the Fancy Pants Legging pattern to make them.  It's an awesome pattern and it's an easy project.  I can't wait to make more with some mismatched knits.  I freezer paper stenciled a heart on the bum.

And here's the little lady in them.  They are pretty snug, but the fabric is really stretchy, so they are comfy.  I think we'll definitely use the next size up next time.  (Shirt found HERE and bow found HERE.)

But it's the bum that I love the most.  I guess I was inspired by my own outfit that day.  :)

Thanks for dropping in.

  1. Adorable! I'm amazed by the fact that even in your sleep deprived state you can still whip out something like this! I'm going to have to check out that pattern, I finally have a few little girls in my life that could use some leggings :)

  2. Oh I'm so sorry you're still getting up twice a night! That is so hard. I hope you're able to nap or something to keep you going. I'm really bad at naps because I usually want to craft or NEED to do dishes instead. Those leggings turned out great. I love the heart on the bum, and I like your shirt too! I may need to find or make me something with hearts.

  3. Ok, so if you say they are easy, I'll take your word for it. I bought the whole pattern package you recommended a few posts back. It's been sitting open in a tab since then, waiting for me to take action. I'm a new sewer, so I hope these will be simple enough!

  4. Dude, I feel you. I have three month old twin girls who are - emphatically - not sleeping for very long stretches. (In their defense they were 9 weeks early, so really they are like maybe a month old adjusted - but it doesn't make it feel any easier. I can't actually remember what it feels like to string more than two hours of sleep together in a row. Sigh.) I LOVE the leggings; so cute! Just so I have an idea, what size did you make that was snug? How big is your little beauty now? My girls are pretty small still (six and a half and eight and a half pounds respectively) - do you have a size you'd recommend based on your experience?

Hang in there mama - it's not easy but you are getting there.

  5. Those are adorable! I like even more that they're not pink or purple. Of course, I have a little boy, so no metallic hearts on his bottom :) Getting up at night is rough, but considering mine just turned 3, I'm living proof that you will survive - it just stinks in the meantime.

  9. too cute - the leggings and the adorable little girl. I am so sorry about your sleep deprivation. I know it has been quite awhile ago but I seem to recall that adding different higher carb foods to my own diet was supposed to help with stretching out the times between feedings. ??? anyone at your MD's have any suggestions ??

  10. Such lovely leggings and very cute. My little granddaughters are now past that stage unfortunately. Enjoy your little bub. She will be grown before you know it. I can remember those days when I could hardly keep my eyes open and I felt like I had a nappy bag attached to my hip!

  12. Hi Cheri, wow, love those leggings. It reminds me of how I made some super simple cute ones from socks. Really easy and fast, especially with no time on your hands. I looked up the tutorial for you:
