Random Bits and Previews....

So today's post is a random assortment of things going on around here.  We painted pumpkins a while back.  I saw some similar Star Wars pumpkins on Pinterest (with a dead end link) and showed them to the boys.  We had plans to make a bunch of them, but life is busy and we maxed out at two.

I let the boys paint the whole pumpkin, then I traced the outline of a face and let them paint that in and then I went back and outlined the facial lines.  That way they got to do a lot of it, but they were happy with the way it looked in the end.

And here's a sneak peak at our Halloween costumes.  They're mostly store-bought this year.  The boys were adamant about Elsa being Leia and I was all for it.  I can't help but laugh when I see her in her "wig."

And last but not least, here's a tiny sneak peak at a new coffee table in the works.  My dad and I built it (which really means he did).

I should have a couple posts coming up in the next few days.  I can't wait to finish the table and to get pictures of all 3 kids in costume.

Thanks for stopping by.

I love that wig! I did store bought this year too. :) I figure that when they are still really little (like 18 months little), it doesn't matter. I actually was going to repeat last year's costume, but my mother in law found a "horton hears a who," costume that she couldn't pass up at Ross, so I'm all for it! Those pumpkins look really fun. I need to break out my paint and let my son paint a pumpkin before it's too late! thanks for the reminder!

Here's a link to our Star Wars family costumes I mostly made this year. We did some thrift store hunting to find all the pieces for my husband's Hans Solo...and some accessories were bought...but the Yoda and Ewok were all made by me :) Next year I plan to be much less ambitious.
